| Here is a list of some of the cars I have test driven and personal opions of them. BMW Z3 M mental!!! fast was not the word, put ya foot down in any gear at any revs and it just went!!!! Nice feel of quailty, nice ride, well balanced handling. E30 M3 quick when u wound it up but not much if any quicker than my BM through the gears, very awkward being LHD. Scooby Turbo stuck to the road like a dream but didnt feel 'that' fast, bit of turbo lag. Sapphire Cossie driven 2 of these, both very fast not so much lag, bit floaty at high speed, both were 2WD versions. Cavalier Turbo pulled well seemed to rev high though, also had lag even though fitted with dump valve, not the best at sticking to a roundabout seemed to drift. Saxo VTS, shit did that go, 7500 it revved to, 65 in 2nd and 95 in 3rd from a 1.6 16v, stuck to a roundabout like glue but my mate did tell me the back came out a bit on the second half but not untill we got back from test drive!!!!! Astra GSi whether this one had been tuned I dont know but shit did it go, lot faster than I expected, 70 in 2nd 100 in 3rd!!!! But suffered badly from torque steer and didnt feel very stable at high speed but did have rock hard suspension. Fiesta RS1800 this went very well quicker than the RS turbo version as u dont have the turbo lag, very possitive on road and pulled all the way round to limiter. Escort RS2000 very quick car again, the gearbox could not be set up better, nice and close pulled well and seemed to stick to road ok. Escort RS turbo very dissapointing do these ever come to life? turbo comes in too late and cuts out too early, loads of lag, unless they are tuned a good XR3i would piss it. Fiesta RS Turbo, seemed better than its brother, cant really feel the turbo cut in or out as much, still think the RS1800 felt quicker though. Metro GTi 16v nippy but very over rated not that fast had to thrash it to get to go. MG Maestro Turbo, another let down, lots of lag felt v/unstable when at high speed. Polo G40, not as fast as expected, punchy but not really fast, v/heavy steering. Nissan Sunny/Pulsar GTi-R , quite quick, nice hard acceleration and the one I tried had a dump valve , so music to ya ears!!! bit noisy over 100mph but i think it was a dodgy example and didnt really get a chance to boot it to much........ Porsche 911 3.2 Sport coupe , Well this was much easier to drive than thought it would have been, pulled bery well in 2nd but 3rd was where u really felt that raw power, it seemed to go on for ever, and despite being RWD the back didnt flinch at all on corners, one of the best sports cars Nissan Skyline R32 GTR , this was my mates car, I didnt actually drive it but this was unbelieveable, fastest car I have ever been in, no lag, twin turbo and and u could feel it, it was so fast in just second gear it was almost scary. |
