This is the first and only place you need to check before heading out to the theater. That's right, the buck stops here.
The following movies are in no particular order
- Road to Perdition: It's not quite the way to San Jose. Perhaps I misheard critical acclaim as critically lame. The movie's focus is placed on symbolism and artistic elements.
More like "Road to I'm Bored"
Rating:B-
- Slackers: You really can't help but laugh when watching this movie because it is funny. "Very" Funny. The losery "Cool Ethan" forces three "slackers" to convince the incredibly "attractive" Angela to "like" him in lieu of the their expulsion. I mean...c'mon, it don't get no betta than that.
Want singing genitalia? Want hair doll humor? Want to hear the word tibia? Watch Slackers, this movie's got it all.
Rating: A
- 8 Mile: Has surprisingly good acting and reinforcement of stereotypes. Look no further for a movie about rap battles. Keep looking for a movie with a well developed plot and character development.
Eminimen's best acting debut EVER!
Rating:B
- The Ring: The scariest movie ever. There's a video, and if you watch it, you die 7 days later. I mean, c'mon...How crazy is that?! VERY CRAZY. A new standard has been set for scary movies.
Bring a friend and some adult diapers
Rating:A
- The Transporter: was nothing short of a disapointment. Jason Statham gives a great performance and is definetly a star. However a lacklustre plot and less than stellar supporting actors, result in a movie that is only fun to look at.
I do say don't bother
Rating:C+
- Knockaround Guys: is a surprisingly involving story about the world of organized crime. Good plot? Good comedy? Good actors? Good times.
This is the best mafia movie since Mafia!
Rating:B
- Minority Report: This movie was really good. Speilberg does it again with Tom Cruise! I enjoyed all of it. The future is here! THE FUTURE IS NOW.
The special effects make the movie, and the plot really holds up well.
Rating:A
- Barbershop: Cedric the Entertainer provides the laughs and Ice Cube is a real....ahem...G. A very elementary plot with unique characters.
Good for a laugh and wince but not much more
Rating:B
- Signs: "I saw the Sign[s]" ~Ace of Base. This movie is a real in your seat thriller, often times moving you towards the edge (of your seat.) The movie provides realistic terror and poses interesting questions. Like why is there an Indian guy in the Great Plains. "I see Directors." M. Night Shyalamalamalama's acting was credible, however, he just seemed out of place.
My lasting impression the movie was only scary until you left the theater

- Swimfan: CRAP
The girl wasn't even hot!

Older movies
- Tommy Boy: Cinema at its best. Its blend of slapstick comedy and social commentary is both timeless and refreshing. The late Chris Farley has the role of his lifetime as Tommy Calahan, big Tom Calahan's son. No matter when, where, or how you watch it, this movie never ceases to please.
Brilliant writing, and inscrutable acting make Tommy Boy true please
Rating:A
- Jaws: What a fine piece of cinema this Jaws is. This film works because it caters to our basic fears. Everyone enjoys a movie about sharks eating people. Speilberg was one of the first to recognize this truth.
Although made in the '70s, it'll still give you the runs for your money
Rating:A
- Deep Blue Sea: What a rip! This film takes a bite at being the new Jaws. Sure, it's still kinda alright, but it's just a copy the original that falls short. Steve Flaherty adds via e-mail: "Deep Blue Sea is an instant classic for one reason : The LL Cool J song My Head is Like a Shark Fin (Deepest, Bluest) that accompanies the film credits"
Although made in the '00s, it's still no Jaws
Rating:C+
- Snatch: Guy Ritchie does a fantabulous job with this film. All the actors are very strong and well developed and the plot is very intricate. You must watch the movie at least three times to truly aprreciate the film for what it is
Full of laughs and surprises. This is a movie to watch with your eyes
Rating:A
