| Friday, September 19, 2003 Subject: From the desk of Dave Clemmons ADVERTISEMENT Dave Clemmons (Casting Director, Music Director, performer) will two unique class opportunities in the coming weeks. Auditioning and Singing in the Modern Musical Theatre An intensive seven week course that will focus on all aspects of auditioning and performing in today's musical theatre industry. 16 bar auditions, full song preparation, music preparation, song selection, lyric interpretation, voice and body work and all audition "nuts and bolts" will be covered. In the first week there will be a private one-on-one half hour evaluation with Dave, then five 3 1/2 hour class sessions in which each student will sing and work each week, then in the final week there will be another private 1/2 hour evaluation with Dave to talk about the progress made and ideas to work on for the future. The fee for the course is $500. Singing Pop/Rock for the Musical Theatre A six week immersion course in the pop/rock styles that are needed for many of today's musicals. This will be a combination of listening, demonstration and "working on your feet." The first two weeks will be listening and lecture with the every student singing each week in the last four sessions. A listening "syllabus" will be furnished and students will be expected to listen and "digest" particular tracks for that weeks discussion. The fee for the course is $450 which includes all listening materials which will be distributed before the first class. There will be a limited number of auditors or observers for each course which will have all of the benefits of the lectures, information and listening just without the actual hands on work. The fee for either class is $250. Both classes are by audition only. Classes will begin the week of Oct. 21st. Classes will meet once a week.
