MORE NEWS FROM THE DBB
Weekly update August 6, 2001 :
The Dave Blackman Band is preparing for its Labor Day weekend gig in Southeast Arkansas.  Bassist Rush Roberts recently returned from an unsuccessful foray into Mexico, specifically the Isle of Women.  The dry spell continues.

Guitarist/Vocalist Will Priestley is in the process of setting up the new rehearal studio for the DBB in Temple, TX.  He recently procured a nice 2 bedroom apartment which should serve nicely as a new base of operations as the DBB seeks to expand its touring into the untapped areas of New Braunfels and Temple, TX.

Plans are being made to record a live DBB album hopefully sometime this fall.  The DBB is working on new material as well as some cover classics.  Currently Rush Roberts is struggling to finish "The Parking Song" while Will Priestley is finalizing the arrangement to the bands first single, "My Boss is a Stripper (and I dont know what to tip her)."

That's all for this week.

Sadly it is my duty to report that the most anticipated DBB jam of the year, the Labor Day Jam in Wilmot, AR, has been postponed till November.  The DBB is still booked to play however.

In other news, plans for the new DBB studio in Temple have been finalized.  Plans are now in the works for a 15 track album to be released in December.  The Temple Sessions will begin on Saturday August 11 and will continue every other weekend until December.

The DBB has also booked a private party in November, and will be playing an open mike in the Temple area on Labor Day.

Big happenings in the DBB circle this weekend.   Band members Rush and Billy Hank LePriest ( Will's newly dubbed surname) journeyed to Shreveport, LA where they were able to rendevous with Keith "Wooderson" Payne in preperation for their upcoming Labor Day gig.

The weekend was full of beer, jamming, swimming and just general relaxing.  The DBB set up shop in the Payne family garage and commenced jamming for hours and hours on end.  The DBB was able to add some new songs to its repotoire for the upcoming show and also was able to clear stage time for its own answer to "Elizabeth Reed" titled "EA Sports (It's in the jam) "

After compteting several extended sessions, Keith Payne was knighted as the third "official" member of the DBB, thus being promoted from "special guest".  The Payne Ranch was unoffically declared to be the DBB's future refuge from autograph seekers, groupies, and Nashville record executives.

All in all it must be said that this was a breakthrough weekend for the DBB.  The only drawback was "the revenge of Iguana Joe" which struck Will on the return voyage back to Texas. During which, Rush and Will were able to count almost 10 Catfish resteraunts between Temple and Shreveport.

Still swervin' on life's highway,
