Debug the Hard Disk
Run the following DEBUG routine
:At a DOS prompt with debug.exe in the path (usually found *in C:\windows\command, or on a windows9x startup floppy),
type "debug". At the dash prompt "-" have the customer enter the following information.
F200 400 0 <ENTER>
RAX <ENTER>
301 <ENTER>
RBX <ENTER>
200 <ENTER>
RCX <ENTER>
1 <ENTER>
RDX <ENTER>
80 <ENTER>
E100 CD 13 <ENTER>
R <ENTER>
P <ENTER> (If you suspect a virus on the drive then power off the system for 5 seconds now)
Q (to quit) <ENTER>
Partitioning and formatting:
1. From the A: prompt enter "FDISK"
2. You have a hard disk larger than do you wish to use large disk access?
[Chose "Y" (yes) for FAT 32 (default choice for most users) [Chose "N" (no) for Fat 16]
3. Select option 41 to "Create DOS Partition or Logical DOS drive "
4. From the menu that appears, select option 1, "Create Primary DOS partition. Answer "Y" (yes) to create the partition.
5. It will start calculating drive integrity and it should count steady up to 100.
6. Do you wish to use the maximum available size "Y" (yes)
7. If you are creating multiple partitions in FAT 16, select option I Create DOS Partition or logical DOS drive from the main FDISK menu.
8. Select option 2 "Create Extended DOS Partition"
9. Select maximum remaining drive size and select "Y" and press enter
10. Select option 3 "Create Logical DOS drives in the Extended DOS Partition
11. Select maximum remaining drive size and select "Y" and presses enter
12. Press ESC once, and select option 2 "Set Active Partition" from the main FDISK menu.
13. Select I then press enter to set the primary DOS partition as active.
14. After the partition has been made active, exit the FDISK disk menu by pressing ESC once.
