Introducing: "Ziggy" Sloan
WASHINGTON, DC (AP) - Sources inside Columbia Hospital for Women have confirmed the emergence onto the Washington scene of Baby Boy "Ziggy" Sloan (D-DC). The strawberry-blond haired Sloan brings considerable political weight to the table (7 lbs. 4 oz. to be exact), stands among his peers at a strapping 19 inches, and is expected to considerably change the dynamics of the House.
Acting Secretary of Labor Deborah Chasan-Sloan could not be reached for comment but is reported to be "ecstatic" and "exhausted".
House spokesman David Sloan held a brief press conference at the Kesher Israel Scotch and Shacharit Center this morning, where he confirmed that the official swearing-in and bris will be held on Thursday, July 26 at Kesher Israel Synagogue (28th & N Streets NW). He added that exact times, directions, details and pool photography will be provided at http://www.sloanfamily.org as soon as they are available.
Sloan made his official Washington debut at 5:57 PM on July 19th (Chaf-Chet Tammuz), accompanied by Chief of Staff Dr. Marciana Wilkerson and Policy Advisor Tina Rosenbaum, to a crowd of about a dozen friends and family waiting outside his office. He has reportedly already become active in his trademark issues of noise pollution, Superfund clean-up, and the Dairy Compact.
