The photos on the left and right of this text are from the Batu Caves, near Kuala Lumpur (KL) during the Indian festival of Thaipusum. Basically, the followers show their devotion to the Gods by piercing their skin with hooks and skews through the chest, back and even mouth. They then make the hours long trek to the temple at the Batu Caves to pray. An amazing site.
