Skudra On His Shutout of Calgary
(from the Associated Press, 1/27/02)

Peter Skudra made 29 saves for his fifth career shutout as Vancouver beat the Calgary Flames 2-0 on Saturday night, extending the Canucks' winning streak to five games.

...

``We don't have much time to celebrate, there are a couple teams behind us really close and a couple teams in front of us that are close,'' said Skudra, who recorded his first shutout of the year. ``We need to stick with our game, do the things we've been doing lately, and keep this going.''

...

With Dan Cloutier sidelined because of an injured ankle, Skudra got his second straight start and was particularly good in the first period when Calgary outshot the Canucks 13-6.

...

Rookie Jukka Hentunen was alone in front but missed the net in the first period, Scott Nichol rang a shot off both goalposts in the second and [Marc] Savard was robbed by Skudra from the side of the net in the third.
