The Secret of the Truth

by Dave Deal

Walk into the final room dark as it may seem
Watching as your destiny appears upon a screen
Can this really be me? You turn and ask the one who knows
As he taps you on the shoulder and says, its time for us to go

It cannot be the wishing well that makes it all come true
And the third room, by itself, wont show you what to do
Then you turn, look into his face and see he wears a smile
When will this all take place? You ask. He answers, after awhile

But first you must do many things; first find the Field of Foe
As he disappears before you to where the purple flowers grow
Many enemies you will find and friends, there will be none
Knock upon the invisible doors and answer, Im his son.

When elf and demons laugh at tears, youll suddenly awake
Several miles beneath the earth; at the bottom of a lake
Your arms and legs will both be bound; youre facing your first test
The earth below will come apart to offer a final rest

Then tell the winds to separate and put each star in place
Though many are ahead of you, youll have to win the race
The past is like a scroll behind; the future, like a rope
You cant turn to the left or right but never give up hope

But beware of the sultry maiden who wonders far and near
She drains men of their inner strength; left in a state of fear
Remember, all Ive said is disguised; the ropes tied in a noose
But these are the dangers we all must face to find the secret of the
truth
