In The Silvery Light

by Dave Deal

There was a girl whose life, I shared
Her face, so radiant with long beautiful hair
I’d spend hours alone with her at night
Next morning, she’d leave in the silvery light

Times, places and girls I remember
But she’s the one I’d want forever
We made love; her love’s so fine
We’d leave reality far, far behind

Into Our fantasy, deep we would fall
Motion was slowed and love was all
Nothing is said, yet, all’s understood
Her thoughts were of love and her loving was good

Now, she’s gone and I feel all alone
I read a few books and stay at home
I see her face very often at night
Smiling and laughing in the silvery light
