In The Night Sky

by Dave Deal

Four or five of us ran together
In our teens, we were all untamed
Everyone said those boys are too wild
When something happened, we always got the blame
We were just trying to have a good time
We always looked for a sign- In the night sky
Never listened to anyone
An answer always came to us in the night sky

Then I started dating Sarah
And more or less forgot about the guys
We started planning for our future
Id get lost staring in her eyes
We could never seem to get enough
Our problems didnt seem so tough under night skies
Got married had a family
On the front porch we embraced as we watched the night sky

In the night, when the sky is clear
Brings out our childlike innocence
our hunger filled from your passionate screams
Our blending love leaves us both content

Now, theres something lurking on the horizon
What it is aint exactly clear
When two countries cant agree on something
Its the people who have cause to fear
One gets the other by surprise
We got to try to keep an eye on the night sky
Peace on earth, goodwill towards men
Could be lost in between the explosions in the night sky
In the night sky
In the night sky
