I never wrote such a thing, and it's disingenuious for you to suggest 
it. My reference to China/India's emissions was in reply to Priscilla's 
post, where she wrote "We have a far smaller population than China and 
India combined, yet we utilize resources and produce emissions far 
greater than our numbers should allow." It was an entirely separate 
thread of the argument. I know well what US reductions would be required 
under Kyoto, and that those reductions are far less than what would be 
necessary to reach parity with China/India. Neither, by the way, is very 
realistic or attainable in the short-term with the structure of the 
world's carbon economy, nor are either politically acceptable to the 
majority of the US in the short term.
