· More basic than that - you're referring to the example - no, the NZ
Greens got their first Parliamentary representation, as Alliance/Greens, in
1996, and "went it alone" as Greens in mid-1999.

· So the great expansion in Greens membership, the media exposure, and yes
the re-directed government-money-flow, have been consequent to The (now 7
in 120 total MPs) Greens being an effective political voice.

· My post was saying that I believe there's been far too much focus on
national political action by The Greens, so that the *raison d'être* for
The Greens has become submerged in relatively short-term politics.
