That's one reason I am so enamored of homeschooling and the homeschoolers
I've known -- education is just another part of life, part of a seamless
whole, involving both the adults and kids in a natural, fun, and bonding
process, while at the same time focusing outward, on the world at large, ...

· I'm sure we couldn't have done home-schooling, in spite of my being
well-qualified and generally able, since teenagers _have_to_ be able to
rebel or at least show their independence, and as the person in charge of
their schooling I would not have been able to separate such rebelliousness
from the "in-school" discipline.
· I don't see that this can be properly solved in most home-school families
after age 11; if the children do knuckle-under, I'm sure that has an
adverse effect on their own development and on their age-20s relationship
with their parents.
