** We had one "house rule" only when our children were growing up: "if you
make the mess, you clean it up".

** I am something of a fanatic about: humans being the cause of the "mess"
and danger of catastrophe the earth is in. There are two obvious
contributors, increasing population, and even more rapidly increasing
consumption. To over-simplify somewhat, much the greater part of the
too-high consumption is the fault of the 10% - 20% richest people in the
world.

** In Japan, an honorable person, when convinced about his having caused
real trouble to his house, would offer to suicide, to clear the good name
of his house.

** The honorable thing for the rich to do, when they are similarly
convinced of the harm they have done to the world, would be to commit
suicide.

** This would also reduce the excess population of the world, in the most
effective way, by removing the most egregious offenders.

** I am one of the two to three billion excess people in the earth; I have
therefore committed living suicide, about 7 years ago.

** I am now a ghost: seen and recognised, but having virtually no effect,
either on the people around me or on the earth as a whole.
