At 20:14 23/5/2001 -0400, Axel Dorscht @freenet.carleton.ca announced: > > Institute for Human Conceptual and Mental Development > IHCMD Online Program > > Sustaining Human Existence in Changing Conditions, > Human Mental Existence and > Human Conceptual and Mental Development > > The Program considers the direction (in human conceptual and mental development) _we_need_to_take_, individually and as a species, to address the problems, difficulties and challenges we face; understand and _manage_ human existence and development ... Answers and solutions are considered in terms of ... human conceptual and mental development, the understanding, _mental_skills_ and practices _we_must_develop_. > >The Program consists of the presentation, consideration and discussion of a series of discussion papers on two separate mailing lists. List 1 will be for posting Program papers and raising questions of clarification with the Program host about the issues raised and view presented in the Program papers. List 2 will be for discussion of the issues with other participants. > >The IHCMD Online Program is free of charge and there are no prerequisites to participate. Participating requires nothing more than an open mind and to subscribe to the appropriate Program List. > · I have nothing against Axel Dorscht's seminar/tutorial - I took it myself 2-3 years ago. But note that you'll not be in a discussion-group with him; if you don't agree with Dr Dorscht, you can (now, but not on that earlier occasion) discuss it with other participants, but Axel himself had no interest in doing more than clarifying what he's presenting to you. Note the bits I've underlined (above) in his announcement. · Even though I was a(n assistant) physics professor at Carleton University Ottawa Canada, from Sept. '76 to Dec. '79 (calendar-'79 I was on secondment to ABU, Zaria Nigeria), I knew only the members of the Physics Dept then, and can say nothing about Dr Dorscht's current connection with Carleton. I can say that the series of discussion papers is likely (IMO) to be full notes for a university lecture series. Quite similar to the paragraphs he gives in his announcement (hard to wade through, even for an academic like me). · For any further comment, including how long I stuck with the course, e-mail directly to me.
