At the Council Meeting at 8:30 this evening the Nelson City Council voted
to spontaneous applause by  8 votes to 3 with one abstention to declare
"Nelson  to be a GE Free City"


Over three years hard work and two previous attempts.
And this time more than 60 people turned up, many local Greens sporting
their Green T-shirts
