Appreciate your `shopping list'.

Since you seem to be an expert at searching Web sites, I have a question for you.  I plead considerable ignorance here!  ..  BTW, do you pay for online time with your server?  My daughter's server, Hunterlink, has a fairly high hourly cost, hence I try not to spend much time online.

During the wee hours of this morning (around 4a.m.) I heard a report on one of the ABC stations, Radio Australia, about Global warming. ...  it seems the BEST programs are on during the times when the smallest numbers of people will be listening :-(  !  

A Professor by the name of Harvey Vice/Wise  ? of Yale has been involved in studies he claims show that during other widespread climate changes -- 1000BC and other times -- civilizations have changed greatly and in short time periods.  When asked by the interviewer if this meant that our situation was hopeless, he stated -- guardedly, I felt -- that it was not hopeless IF (my emphasis) we (the First World people) would change to simple living quickly!

Did you hear that organized crime's biggest money business (~$2.5trillion) is no longer drugs but smuggling people?  (again from ABC RADIO).  Could much of this be due to the `greener Grass' syndrome' , possibly fostered by  exposure to Western (or Northern) TV?  Many of the people pay tens of thousands of dollars to be smuggled into what they see as `better' nations.

I'm still bearing up well despite the heat -- thanks to A/C.
