** Friends of the Earth here is tiny - just an office with sometimes a
partly-paid office worker, and sometimes there's also an activist busy
organising.
** Since 1980, I've gained the impression that people (activists) work at
something for only 2-4 years, then burn out, loose interest, become
discouraged. (My wife has been a director for about 12 years, until last
year, so I hear about it.)
** Some have been a real loss; it would have been better if they'd taken
some months off, so as to come back rejuvenated. Maybe even a year or three.
** You need a vision, a positive future, to keep going. Getting ground
down by the nitty-gritty wrecks that.
