** I don't have access to such items on the NY Times - I'm not registered
with them.

** This is the third or fourth time I've started filling out the NYTimes'
registration form, then baulked.

** I'm not sure why, exactly. It's the legalese, perhaps.
But most newspapers provide access to (perhaps selected) articles for
at least 7 days, often 30 days.

** If it costs them to store it in an archive, I can see they might want
to collect information on users, so they can decide whether and how to
attempt charging for use, later.

** But the NY Times has already /published/ the article; you would think
they would be _happy_ to have it's existence and content disseminated
widely! Acknowledgement of the source is only fair; I would think most
people would do that naturally.

** As I say, I'm not sure why I'm so reluctant to get involved with the NY
Times.

** Got to go, or I'll miss the Mobile library's weekly visit.
