[pf] adding your voice, about global warming gas emissions.

· Some of you may wish to add your voice to others in applying pressure to
Prime Ministers and other government leaders around the world, to legislate
to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions linked to global warming.

· There is a coalition of NGOs which aims to send 10 million messages by
e-mail from the public to world political leaders demanding that they use
the November climate treaty talks at The Hague, Netherlands to work to
reduce global warming. At:

http://davd.tripod.com/GrNZ-RegionalRept-000831.html#voice

  is a news item about it (the whole document is rather large, but you can
push 'stop' as soon as the item is visible, at ~33%). After going to the
climatevoice.org site, you fill in a form with your name and e-mail
address (I used my general one: d1v9d@bigfoot.com ; I reserve my ihug.co.nz
address for lists and other entry-restricted situations), and they send the
message; today, it's going to the Prime Minister of France.

· The form didn't work with my old 3.04 Netscape, but you /can/ see the
message being sent, (copied at the bottom of this). 4.x browsers should work

· The coalition of NGOs is:

- the World Wide Fund for Nature,
   known in the U.S. and Canada as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF);
- Greenpeace International;
- Friends of the Earth International; Climate Action Network Australia;
- the David Suzuki Foundation based in Vancouver, Canada;
- German NGO Forum on Environment & Development (Forum Umwelt & Entwicklung);
- HELIO International;
- EURONATURA; Ozone Action;
- The Clean Air Network;
- Climate Solutions;
- The Climate Alliance of European Cities with Indigenous Rainforest Peoples
   (Klima-Buendnis/Alianza del Clima e.V.);
- The Center for International Environmental Law;
- Save Our World;
- Natural Resources Defense Council; and:
- and National Environmental Trust.

· The message sent on your behalf:

 I believe the pollution that causes global warming should be reduced.
Otherwise the impacts could be devastating for people and creatures around
the world.

 I don't think we should be running these risks when solutions are at hand.

 Please use the opportunity of November's climate summit in The Hague,
Holland:
 - to reduce your country's global warming pollution
 - to agree a fair and effective Kyoto global warming treaty
