**  Spring is on the way! (here)

**  The cat's been sleeping in the sun on the north side of the house for
about 5 hours this week - the sun wasn't high enough to warm his bit of
out-door carpet a few weeks ago.

**  My wife left for work on the first (6:30 AM) bus this morning (as
usual) but I didn't have to have the porch light on because there was
enough sky light, even though the sun had not yet risen.

**  In a few weeks it'll be warm enough (except around dawn) for me to
start taking off the layer of fat I use as insulation in the winter; I'll
eat 30% to 40% less until I get back to my normal weight, ~65 kg (what I've
had all my adult life).

**  By the way; although this gets to you with a time-date like:
Wed, 13 Sep 2000 13:07 -0700,
    it's actually about 8:30 AM +1200 on Thursday 14th here.
