| MORAL EDUCATION
The Moral Education Department is another distinction of this college. In this age of the decline of moral and human values, it tries to dispel spiritual darkness and spread faith. This department provides moral education to young students to enable them to face the challenges of life with courage, determination and strong will power. CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES The college envisages for the students all round development of their personalities. This demands a large exposure outside the classroom. Every student is supposed to join some activity outside his formal course of study. So lectures and debates, singing / acting / painting competitions, tours and pleasure cum adventure trips are organised from time to time. The experienced faculty members and professional trainers try their best to bringout the hidden talents and potential of young students. COLLEGE MAGAZINE �GIANSHEEL� The College Magazine �GIANSHEEL� is published annually. This is a vehicle for the expression of aims, aspirations and creative talents of the students. It gives the students opportunity for self expression in English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Punjabi. PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION The Prize Distribution Function is organised in the college annually. Students who stand first in the college or in the University Examination and who win merit position are awarded prizes. Prizes are also awarded for achievements in Sports, Youth Festival of K.U.K. and Competitions organised by other colleges. Students are given prizes for meritorious performance in N.C.C. and N.S.S. Students who bring name and fame to the college with their extraordinary achievements are honoured with College Memento/ Colour. LIBRARY A special attraction of our college is the Mahatma Hansraj Library in a newly constructed spacious building. It has a collection of more than 65,000 books on varied subjects. This library is a unique blend of the old, rare books brought from Lahore and the latest books on Science and Technology. It subscribes to more than 100 dailies, periodicals and journals on various subjects. LIBRARY RULES 1. No book will be issued to students unless they produce their Identity Card at the issue counter. 2. Under-Graduate students are entitled to draw three books and Post-Graduate students are entitled to draw four books from the library. 3. Books are issued for 14 days with the exception of some books which cannot be retained for more than a week or in some cases three days. 4. A fine of Re.1 per day shall be charged for each book kept overtime. 5. Books can be re-issued at the discretion of the librarian keeping in view the demand of the students. 6. Books lost or defaced in anyway have to be replaced by the borrower, failing which double amount will be charged. 7. Reference books, syllabus, illustrated material and journals etc. are to be consulted in library only. Any student found guilty of taking such material outside the library shall be held guilty of pilferage. 8. The librarian can order any book to be returned any time at his discretion. 9. Students are expected to see the library notice board from time to time. 10. Perfect silence and order must be maintained in the library at all times. |

| CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS
1. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college. Anybody found guilty of this offence will be severely dealt with as per the direction of the Supreme Court. 2. No meeting can be held in the college premises without the prior permission of the Principal. 3. Every student is required to keep with him / her the Identity Card in the college premises. Any student who fails to produce his / her Identity Card on demand shall be punished and may even be turned out of the College. 4. Carrying plastic bags / mobile phones is banned in the College. 5. SMOKING, DRINKING, GAMBLING and consumption of PAN MASALAS of any kind is strictly prohibited. The students carrying Crackers, Match Box or Lighters will be dealt with severely. 6. Students must behave politely with their teachers, other employees of the college and fellow students. 7. A student found guilty of misconduct, making noise in the verandahs, damaging/ disfiguring furniture, walls etc. shall be severely punished. 8. Students are expected to keep the college neat and clean. Plucking of flowers and plants is strictly prohibited. 9. Students are expected to read the notices put up on the notice board everyday. 10. Students must be regular and punctual. 11. Students should not loiter about in their free time. They should make use of the well equipped common rooms, lawns, library or college canteen during their free time. 12. Students must observe discipline in all the functions / programmes organised in the college. 13. It is mandatory for students to appear in College House Exams. The students who fail to appear in these exams, will be construed to have scored a zero. Such students will not be allowed to sit in the annual K.U. Exams. 14.
