Projects on the go
Medicine Wheel
What better way to connect to nature, than through the healing rituals of our
native Medicine Wheel. Built by my dear friends and constant companions, Tim
as well as myself and Adele.
It was conceived for Adele, a naturopathic healer, whose plan it was to use,
during one of her healing circles. Ours is blessed by the addition of our
equine members. What a wonderful feeling to look out in the pasture and see
the horses eating the grass within the medicine wheel a blending of
spiritual beings.
Healing circles will be lead on the farm as well by Adele.

Labyrinth Walk
Within the same pasture we have constructed a labyrinth walk.
It was assembled during a moment of need.
A journey, into the light for a precious horse.
I stayed with Modulator through the day and night, building the Labyrinth
while he watched, and using it as I went, for meditation and
preparing for the decision I had to make. We shared a very special connection
during those hours. Together we shared beer, peppermints and love until he
went on his journey and I mine. Interestingly, the remainder of the herd
dismantled the Labyrinth within a week of his death nosing and pushing the
rocks maybe there is a message in that I havent figured it out yet. We
continue to rebuild it, waiting for its acceptance within the pasture or
its dismantling, Strangely they have left the Medicine Wheel intact.
Guardian Dragon Garden
Under the trees, where the sun streams through the leaves is a dragon emerging
from the soil and up through the crooks of trunks. It is a place where the
dragon surfaces. An ongoing project that all visitors work on.
Trails
Davalon is a beautiful testament to the wonders of nature.
There is no hunting here and the wildlife is quite comfortable in the
knowledge that they are safe here. We began the trails several years ago and
continue to develop more. It is an ongoing project.
There is nothing like the feel of riding down the old laneway,
lined with Hickory trees planted by the original settlers and seeing the old
log buildings from the old homestead. There is still much work to be done on
the re-claiming but it is a labour of love.
The Round Pen
We finally erected a round pen in the fall of 2007.
This spring it will be finding its resting spot so all can use it.
Elise and I are looking forward to using it as part of our daily working environment.
