 | Welcome to Davalon Stables | ____________________ Vision of Davalon Davalon is a personal vision. A melding of a love of horses and a connection to the land. Davalon is about personal growth and a recognition of inner strength, a haven for all living creatures and a refuge for many people in need of uniting with mother earth through the spirit of horses, the shelter of trees and the warmth of the sun. Natural Horsemanship? We have a strong belief in respect of land and creature and as such we do our best to honour our equine companions through a loving approach to daily life. There has been much publicity in recent years surrounding the world of natural horsemanship and �horse whisperers�. We use many processes from the various horsemen and women, although I cannot say we are loyal to any one. We handle our horses in a way that is �Natural� and �Right� to us. Inspired by the work of Gawani Pony Boy, John Lyons, The McCormick�s spiritual work, Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling. I have found there is no one way but rather the journey we find that is right or instinctive for us. The way that inspires confidence and growth for all involved is the path to follow. Whatever the method, if it is respectful and it works then it is right ... and that is what we encourage for our horses and the people who love them. Our horses are kind, loyal and giving � but most of all respectful, because they see us as their leaders. We enjoy the individual �kooky� personalities of each. They read our bodies fluently. It never ceases to amaze me how these large powerful, prey animals are so willing to trust and follow our guidance. Elise, is a special and sensitive young woman. She has shown a gift working with young, nervous horses. It is such a pleasure to see adoration in the young horses� eyes. Her delicate, physical size is non-threatening to the little ones and her kind loving demure inspires confidence, and trust in the babies. It is such a thrill to watch her play with them�. Camera always at the ready. We, as spectators, are allowed the pleasure of being part of that connection through her photography, seeing them in her eyes and she, reflected in theirs. It is always amazing to me the people that come and go from our beautiful Davalon and what take take and leave behind.
