LYRA

 

(Abbreviation: Lyr).

 

A small constellation, but a very interesting one; it is graced by the presence of the brilliant Vega, as well as the prototype eclipsing binary b Lryæ, the quadruple Î Lryæ, and the ‘Ring Nebula’ M.57.  Mythlogically it represents the harp, which Apollo gave to the great musician Orpheus.
