Originally Avis Indica; it was introduced by Bayer in 1603.  It lies in the far south, and has only two stars brighter than magnitude four.

The magnitude of d is given as the combination of d¹ and d², which are separated by 103” and make up a very wide physically connected pair.  The only other star above mag. 5 is h; mag. 4.91, type A2p.
