City of Splendors
Back in Waterdeep:
The Adventures of Karranna and Juan in the
City of Splendors:
Karranna and Juan travel to the Temple of Mystra
to tell the High Priestess Maryth, that she has felt a summons to
travel the Realms on Mystra's behalf and proclaim her etho's! It was a
sad farewell, but a expected one. Meanwhile Juan rudely strips of clothing
and bathes in the spiritual fountain of Mystra whilst youthful
priests and priestess of Mystra gaze in horror at the sight! However, Karranna
(though embarrassed but not surprised) quickly gathered her dwarven comrads
clothing and personal items and bid him quickly out of the foutain and
out of the Temple before Maryth had his hide!
Juan (to Karrannas dismay) felt the need to beseech
Khelben "BlackStaff" Arunsen on the matters of selling and purchasing enchanted
weapons. Khelben was out on personal matters and his consort Laeral Silverhand
(one of the 7 Sisters) answered the Towers Gate door and led the dwarven
warrior and his well known Paladiness ally up to her private study.
There Laeral and Juan spoke openly, he had a few items of enchantment to
sell or swap in exchange for a well known item among the more adventurous
mortals known as a ring of protection. She had two such items in
her possession, and aggree'd to sell them to the dwarf for the price of
the minor items of magic he had to swap in addition to a service
to her. Having agreed to that she bid Juan to enter the sewers below
Waterdeep and follow a map that she made from her own delicate penmanship
that would lead him to a grotto where she believed a dark group of thugs
were smuggling a new drug known as Blaze into Waterdeep. "Blaze"
was a nasty hallucinagenic drug that was new on the streets that caused
the user to enter a euphoric state, then once the trip was wearing off
the user became unexpectedly violent..and quite a few deaths or near deaths
have occurred due to this drug use...plus it is highly addictive!! Karranna
also mentioned that she knew a certain dark elven rogue in the city
that could of good use in these matters known as Zed (?). However, just
then a message bearing clergy member of the Temple to Mystra entered the
chambers bearing a message to Karranna that she was being summoned
back to the temple, that a visitor was awaiting her. Karranna, highly intrigued,
left immediatly to meet her visitor that would ask for an immediate and
urgent meeting. Thus she left, but not before having word sent to inquire
to Zed about meeting Zed at a local festhall that Learal told Karranna
to have him meet them at, on the third floor.
