Liches, Drakhon and Imprisonment!
They find themselves in a large
room with only a coffin in the room. The coffin lid slides open and a lich
rises up out of it. Its Jhaelthallar, an apprentice of Lord Drakhon and
the Heroes and the lich battle, up until the point where the Heores get
close to winning and the lich alters its body into that of mist and goes
back into the coffin, and the coffin lid shuts ontop of the coffin.
The Heroes open the coffin lid to find both stairs heading down and a waiting
delayed blast fireball spell that is quick to explode! They follow
the stairs down deep into what appears to be some grande throne room
of some ancient palace. They see as they walk into to it 6
balconies, on which stand Iron Golems all with Bat-like wings of
iron attached to their backs! As well as straight ahead across the far
reaches of the room is a throne made up of human, and humanoid bones!
Then their hear a noise behind
them, turn to find only palace walls covering where they had entered!
They are trapped. Then they hear Drakhon voices echo through the chamber,
bidding them to sit and eat with him. Next thing that happens
is that they are sitting at a long table (the length of the room) and they
find themselves all healed, with all their previously cast spells
fresh in mind, and themselves dressed very richly as if meeting royalty.
They themselves also found themselves to be all cleaned up, as if they
had been bathed and both Karranna and Valarias hair and make up had been
done as if by a professional. (though their make up was the type a street
tramp might where)
Then Lord Drakhon joined them
at the far end of the table sitting at his throne. Conversation occurred,
then after some heated discussion, the table vanishes and Lord drakhon
releases his first attack! At the same time as his releases his attack
Valaria unleashes her, she breaks a figurine of her mother (whisper dragonmaw),
and just after Drakhons spell goes off, Whisper appears in the room!
Drakhons first attack was
a violent one; a meteor swarm, a chain lighting spell, plus a wand appeared
next to his head unleashing a fireball spell! The heroes were all
basically almost killed in that first strike, and they hurry to cast abjuration
magic or down a healing potion and hope they survive the next spellstrike!
But as Drakhon cast his next spells, this sets off one of Whispers spell
contengencies and a Euperation spell goes off, as well as a Nyreckia's
Dead Fall spell, The euperation spell absorbs his next 3 spell attacks:
another meteor swarm, a snillocs major missile spell and another
fireball from the wand! The Nyreckias Dead Fall spell seems to be
absorbed into the Lich Lord.
Whisper then goes around the
room healing evryone, meanwhile her Euperations absorb the next several
spell attacks he unleashes at them, while Juan, Karranna, and Throg as
well as Regelan all race over to him with swords (and battle-axes) raised!
There weapons seem to simply pass through the lichlord, and an aura of
coldness washes over them. An aura that chills them to their very core!
Then Drakhon lets out an ear piercing wail, poor regelan dies on the spot
from the sheer system shock of the deathly wail of death!Valaria conjures
up an Dagger swarm (by using up one her enchanted daggers) and the spell
is simply absorned into Drakhon! As well as Whispers Maw of Chaos she cast.
Then Whisper cast an Eye of Mystra spell which to her luck affected
the creature of darkness, and an eye of the goddess cast a beam of cold
white light upon Drakhon stripping him of his memorized spells!
Drakhon nods his head and
defeat and respect to Whisper. Then tells them of their fate. They
are prisoners within this palace room, as no method of escape with work.
Then he transforms into demi-lich form (skeletal head) and flies
up to one of the Iron Golem balconies and vanishes, his words echoing through
the room " Enjoy your eternity here while i conquer your pathetic realms,
and slay everyone you call a kindred or friend."
Then all 12 of the winged irong
golems attack. The heores battle them off, and find themselves trapped
in Drkhons main chamber! In Drakhons trap! Whisper decides to slowly unravel
the spell layers he has placed upon the place, but she thinks it'll take
a LONG time to do so.
So via Karrannas creat food
and water spells they have food and water so that it one worry out
of the way, but another worry occurs to them...before Drakhon left he mentioned
that they shouldnt worry about becoming lonely he'd leave them playthings.
But what did he mean....???
At the end of the first week
Juan fell ill to some disease as his skin became very dry and flaky
and he felt very sick, but Karranna cast a cure disease spell
upon him and he felt better. Then that same day A beholder appears in the
palace and before they realize its among them, poor REgelan is turned to
stone....after much time they manage to track the beholder down and corner
it and kill it! However Regelan is still stone...and they feel as if the
very trap they are in is feeding off of their living energies! As
if the walls or the very air is absorbing their life and their strength!
Over the next several weeks it was as if the walls was absorbing from
them their very essences and powers....their prison was feeding off of
them! Plus each week a nasty creature of the lower planes
was gated into the prison to slay the prisoners! Gradually Whisper
broke down the binding spells that Drakhon has layered to gate in creatures,
but still hundereds of layers remained....Things look hopeless. Months
pass..... the Heores attempt to practice their crafts so not to lose their
skills and lose hope in general.
8th month of imprisonment: (Tarsakh 14th
1370 Year of the Tankard) Whisper and Karranna feel the loss of their
goddesses power and contact. Spells go awry, and clerical powers fail.
Tarsakh 28th 1370: Contact with Mystra
is back again, but Whisper cannot directly contact the goddess...only access
to her in through granting of spells and Whispers Chosen powers.
