A couple days later Whisper
gathers her friends together and tells them all that she knows of some
Cult of the Dragon activity that is on the rise in Cormyr. She explains
that there is a old red dragon in the Storm Horn mountains called Raulthoagramire
the Horrid whom the Cult has become interested in transforming that docile
female dragon into one of their dracoliches. Through contact with
harper allies and other contacts Whisper has learned that the
dragon has answered yes to the demands of the Cult and is loving their
pampering of her and the Cult plans to transform her very soon!
So being the wonderful heroes
they are they all agree'd to travel to Cormyr and dispose of this realms
affecting happening. Of course Whisper paid them 500gp, plus whatever
they found along the way was 100% theirs to the copper coin. Plus if they
waited a day to leave Whisper would supply them with wondeful steeds. The
heroes stayed, except for Lorthois and Karranna whom flew down to Tilverton
(Lorthois by a phantom steed and Karranna by her steed Ishtarr). In Tilverton
they boarded a room and Lorthois had his way with a "brutal" barmaid. Karranna
also recieved a mental message from Whisper that a messenger from the Temple
in Waterdeep arrived in ShadowDale at the Tower for her, a messenger bearing
a message from Lord Skai of Mystra. Karranna flew hastily back to ShadowDale,
to find Emerald in the library of the tower studying a tome. She seemed
to Karranna to have grown up considerably since she had left to Waterdeep
a year prior. She bore with her a set of 7 scrolls, all written in ancient
Thorass, which Valaria quietly without her mothers knowing transcribed
into common. They found that these scrolls were known as the Apocolyptic
Scrolls, and even included a note from their maker, the late Alaundo of
CandleKeep.
Also Valaria tells her dear
friends that wont be able to journey with them as she had planned to do
so because Storm Silverhand had contacted her and herself, Alexius (her
aunt) and 4 other harper agents were traveling to Thay to determine
the rumours of the Zulkir of Necromancy uniting all of the red wizards
under his skeletal hands.
The adventurers set out for
Tilverton, they plan to pass through the Shadow Gap between the Thunder
Peaks. AFter 15 days they make it to Tilverton, and stay at the inn Lorthois
and Karranna boarded for them. During the night Kit enters their chambers
through the window, but through a crystal ball full of sleeping gases
she kept all in their sleep except for Daleen and Lorthois, but a crossbow
bolt put Daleen to rest. After exchanging words with Lorthois, Kit left
the chambers with Lorthois owing a debt for his life to Kit that she promised
to gather when she desired.
In the morning they headed
to Arable down the Moonsea Ride, a major road in Cormyr. The weather wa
sbitingly cold and the snow was kept off the road for the most part. 2
days into their travel down this road they met with a Company of Purple
Dragons of the Crown, whom asked for the companies charter. As all adventuring
bands must possess a chater to travel through Cormyr. After a losing battle
of the tongues the heroes agree to getting a charter in Arable and return
to their journey. A Day later they arrive in Arable, head directly to the
Baron and purchase on credit (of Karranna's name) a charter for the price
of 1,000 gp! In the process the heroes screw up and mention Whisper who
has not paid her yearly tax on her charter and will be sent a bill
of 20,000gp for past charges, alongside the heroes bill. So the heroes
are now known as the COMPANY OF MYSTRA'S HAND!
A day later they find themselves
in the small town of Eveningstar, where they wait out the weather, and
aftera couple days decide the weather isnt going to get any better and
decide to board the steeds and travel on foot with the aid of Lorthois
magic. The next morning they set out on foot and head west into the Storm
horn mountains, a day into their journey Emerald calls upon the magic of
her goddess and learns that past the split tree and next to the black rock
shall they find their way. Which they infact came across mere hours later,
as they walked over a broken tree that crossed over a deep ravine and on
the other side of the broken/split tree was a black stone shining under
the wintery sun! Lorthois casts a fly spell upon himself and journeys
down into the misty ravine and moments later he comes up after finding
a cave opening futhur down into the ravine!!
They set up their climbing
ropes and set down into the ravine. They entered the cave and walked
its snaking corridors, until it came so small they would have to crawl
and then figmundt decided to scout them out for his allies. After much
back and forth work Figmundt came upon a chamber that had skulls and skeletons
littering it. Within this chamber for some unknown reason to the Heroes
they found some sort of necromantic enchantment that set off human Skulls
shrieking continuously until they were destroyed as well as an undead skeleton
laired within this chamber though only animated once the skulls watchers
were activated. This chamber led up a steep tunnel that was coated with
a thin layer of a substance that was slick and made their climb up the
steep tunnel slow and difficult. Once they heroes had climbed perhaps 70
or more feet that slippery substance vanished and dusty cobweb
filled tunnel began, a tunnel that was barely big enough to fit the adventurers
through. This tunnel led them to a large sized chamber filled with
cobwebs and towards the cieling of it some very thick webs, in which 3
giant spiders nested with a cacooned past meal (human of course) and a
soon-to-hatch egg sack. A quick fireball spell cast by Lorthos slew the
spiders, eggs and burnt all of the webs down revealing two exit tunnels
are the upper half of the chamber (one on the east wall, and one on the
west wall). Lorthos also found a madallion on the body of the half eaten
human that was at one time held within the now burnt away cacoon. Figmund
traveled the west corridor to find that it led to a dead end of sorts,
where the corridor ended at a 4 foot drop into a fast moving body of dark
waters. An underground river of sorts.
The east corridor leads them
to a ledge overlooking a vast cavern of darkness. After everyone gaining
the power to fly (from self cast spells or spells cast by the group mage=Lorthos)
they entered the cavern and flew down into the darkness, some 200 feet
below they find a forest of mushrooms and other fungus. Some 10 or more
feet tall, still others inches tall. They find no signs of life within
this chamber, except for a 20 foot long white lizard that ignores them
and walks along the cieling hunting the large spiders that also infest
this room.
After some time they manage
to find a tunnel 160 feet above the mushroom floor of the cavern that leads
through another dirty cobweb filled crawl tunnel. This one however
leads them to a point where the corridor turns completly vertical and is
made by steel. After some inspection it appears as though is covering the
crawl tunnel, something metal and very heavy!
Karranna pushed the metal object blocking their
exit up and over to reveal a large Temple-like chamber above them.
They found themselves exited the tunnel into a large chamber with glossy
marble floors and 4 pillars leading up to the domed cieling overhead. Next
to each of the pillars were a large 15 foot tall stone statue of a man
with his hands cupped out infront of him as if they were suppossed to be
holding something.
Before they knew it they found
themselves being attacked by 2 blasts of fiery dragonbreath from the larger
chamber past the smaller sacred chamber they were in. Suddenly twin hatchling
red dragons came within the view of the hereos infravision and the battle
was on. A ray of enfeeblement from Figmund made one prone being eaten
away by the blast of a melfs acid arrow spell. Meanwhile the other was
being struck down by the prowess of the Heroes. Within a few moments the
heroes found the hatchlings dead and facing another larger blast
of dragonbreath as a larger red dragon sweeped into view. However, the
heroes combined might quickly disposed of this youthful dragon.
However, soon a deep and ancient
evil voice boomed through the massive chamber beyond them, all of which
just appeared as darkeness to them as the heroes could only see up to the
limit of their infravision. The Voice beckoned to come out and present
themselves to the mother of the babies the heroes just killed. The heroes
soon watched as a fireball came hurling at them to burst around them. Then
moments later Karranna (under the enchantments of a jump spell) went boldly
out into the open of the chamber. The other heroes soon followed, however
to the horror of the heroes two dragons from each side of the large
chamber exited massive side chambers where they has laid coiled in hibernative
slumber. One spoke an unknown word of magic and the entire temple
area (all 800 and more feet of it) lit up with enchanted light equal to
a mid-day sun, thus blinding all of the heroes (whom had been using infravision!).
Then the dragons struck cruely! The mother attacked Karranna with a blast
of dragon breath as did the male dragon attack the other heroes!
Emerald and Daleen managed to leap aside of the blast of the flames (and
were both protected by magical rings from the vast majority of the flames),
but Juan, Lorthos and Figmund werent as lucky as the flames sent
their souls flying into the Fugee Plane! Emeralds quick thinking commanded
Daleen to grab Juan as She grabbed Lorthos and Figmunds corpses and began
pulling them back towards the side temple chamber where the hole was at.
She pulled their bodies down into the hole and after Daleen pushed Juans
burnt body down into the hole he turned back to aid Karranna face the two
powerful red dragons! Meanwhile, Emerald prayed to Mystra for a miracle
which to her amazement was granted and all but Figmunds souls made
their way back to their tattered bodies. As Figmund required , as being
a faerie being needed non-human based access to the weave to retrieve his
dragonish soul, plus Figmund did not wish to return or be ressurected and
as thus he has joined Mystra (as one of the faithful) in her palace,
DweomerKeep in the outer planes.
Meanwhile, Karranna used her
Jump magic to leap upwards onto the female dragons head, despite her writhing
back and forth Karranna was able to draw her Skais Holy Avenger and srike
three deep and mortal blows to the female dragon! Skais blade crackled
with unleashed energies with each blow and upon the final death blow, the
female with Karanna fell dead to the temple floor, this knocked Karranna
prone onto the floor below. But due to the quick response of Lorthos in
his frail but surviving form and his magical wand of major missiles,
he was able to draw the male dragon away from Karranna. Seeing that he
was clearly overmatched as having watched a single paladin slay his mate
with 3 blows and knowing that his foes carried potent magic the dragon
rose up into the air and headed towards 3 swirling crystal globes high
1000 feet above the floor below and said a word of magic and the globes
blaszed with electrical energies and then the dragon vanished.
The Company of Mystra's Hand
was alive and in poor hurt condition, with one dead and most everyone wounded.
Although they had bested on this day 4 dragons and made another one retreat.
Then their thoughts turned to the treasure that there gazes fell upon at
the very far end of the chamber. A massive mound of coins rose up nearly
to the cieling of a far side chamber.
So after having healed their
wounds and eating a meal, Emerald remembered having been given (by Marylax
from Whisper) an enchanted sack that would teleport whatever was put within
it to a special spot in Whispers tower. With high hopes (and a lot of greedy
thoughts of Towers, shops full of goods waiting to be purchased, and other
luxuries that could be bought with such a massive sum of wealth) the heroes
began to (with the aid of magic) sift through it all and divide up
in separate piles anything that contained magical powers.
2 days later they had finished
this tremendous undertaking and discovered that on the back of the chambers
wall hidden behind all the coins was a door outlined in runes. Upon opening
the door, a dark mist leaks forth and the heroes are compelled to
enter the impenatratable darkness beyond. Upon entering it the door quietly
closes behind them and vanishes leaving them lost amogst an infinite
chamber of pure darkness, the heroes lost track of one another as they
could not hear one another nor see one another...all they saw was darkness
and all they heard was their own heartbeats and a whispering voice tempting
them with what they held in their greediest portion of their minds....
Then they each became engulfed
in an illusion where they were within their most desirable fantasy and
they were tempted....
Juan
a powerful blacksmith in Waterdeep, with his wealthy and well known shop
and his beautiful wife. With the whole city talking of his tremendous skills
and boasting of his high adventures.....
Daleen in a beautiful woodland
being followed by his pixie followers and his silver wolf companion, walking
in the very woodland that he had rid of all evil beings. Once infested
with evil and tormented, now only goodness dwells within the peaceful woodland....
Lorthois in his labratory
of his tower, in the finishing process of his most powerful creation, his
staff of the magi....
Karranna being ordained a
"Lady" by King Azoun IV and traveling to her Castle in Cormyr where her
knights awaited her for her to lead them into a war against the zhents
and other evil doers of the Realms....
Emerald striking a killing
blow to the clergy of Cyric, leading a war against the insanity of Cyric
the mad, and succeeding in destroying the faith and in essence slaying
Cyric himself.....Mystra fully smiling solely upon Emerald herself.
Then upon each of them giving
into the reality of each illusion, a voice says; "Let it be then." At that
moment all of the heroes appeared in a cirlce around a glowing pedastle
made of onyx on which crouched a being in black tattered robes whom was
chained to the pedastle via mithril chains that glow with a fiery enchantment
of their own. They watched in horror as the mithril chains vanished and
the being raised his head revealing a Skeletons face, which its empty eye
sockets leaked a crimson mist...
At
this moment, a tiny bell sound echoed through Karranna's mind as the 2nd
Apocalyptic Scroll crumbled to ashes as the words of it echoed through
her mind.
The being spoke to them and
waved a skeletal arm and upon Karrannas head apeared a crown of black stones,
in Lorthos hands appeared a black Staff of the Magi, Daleens fingertips
turned black, and everyones weapons turned a black color.
Then this being known as Death vanishes and the
darkness of the chamber vanishes leaving behind a stone chamber and the
door leading into the dragons lair.
The heroes fled the room to
watch in horror as the male dragon appears within the cieling of its former
lair, and glides swiftly down towards the heroes to get within dragonbreath
range....although it never does because the black robed being appears in
between the heroes and the dragon and unleashes a black bolt of energy
against the dragon....the dragon simply vanishes without a trace! Then
the Death being vanishes....leaving the heroes to their thoughts of what
they've done........
Minutes after this the Heroes are left in a silence, as they realize what just undergone....then Karranna mentally heard a summons from Storm Silverhand, wishing to know if Karranna knew Valarias and Alexius's whereabouts? This alarmed Karranna, especially when she told Storm that she had thought Storm had sent Valaria, Alexius and four other harper agents into Thay to investigate the rumours of a Thayan Alliance of the Zulkiirs. Storm was shocked and Karranna discovered that Storm had been trapped in a stasis sphere for more than a ten-day after a battle with an unknown mage of no small power! Storm told Karranna to as quick as possible to come back to ShadowDale for treachery has befallen the harpers that were "sent" into Thay, it must of been a trap!
Karranna and the Heroes return
to ShadowDale. Within 2 days much devestation falls upon the shoulders
of the Heroes, Whisper, Marylax, Storm and Sylune Silverhand, as all attempts
to magically locate any of teh harpers show them as being dead. Also the
heroes discover that they have been cursed, Juan doesnt know what his curse
is, Lorthos Staff of the magi seems to randomnly draw his own life energies
into it to recharge itself, Daleens touch slays nature and transforms animal
life into Darkenbeasts!, Emerald is suddenly nonmagical, any magic on her
person is nullified and anything she touches becomes magically dormant,
Karranna is unsure of her own curse. Then a box appears at Whispers door
of her tower and within that box was the fingers of four of the harpers
and two bloody dragonmaw rings (also with a note from Tzass Tam saying
"Yours Truly, Tam"). And so it was, the truth of the matter felt like a
load of steel upon everyones shoulders, a "clone" of Storm had sent all
6 harpers to their deaths in Thay. Revenge entered everyones minds....though
even in her cold rage and utter grief, the once again Mourning Archmage;
Whisper Dalael summoned the Company of Mystra's Hand to her study...where
she told them that the Realms must come first, that she would deal with
the murder of her sister and daughter, but the heroes were needed to travel
once again to Cormyr to destroy a Great Wyrm Black Dragon, known as Shallagore
the Ancient Serpant for fear that the Cult of the Dragon would beat them
to making her another one of their dracoliches, as if this particular dragon
would become a dracolich Cormyr for sure would perish under its acidic
breathe and arcane spells. Karranna tried to persuade Whisper to allow
them to accompany them with her to seek revengence upon Tam in Thay, but
she insisted Karranna to realize the Realms must come first in all matters
(especially when you are a servant of Mystra, personal matters mean nothing.
Protection of the weave and magic is everything. A lesson she learned the
hard way, and one she will not ever part with.).
So less than a half an hour
later they met in the Courtyard and Marylax teleported the Company into
the woods next to the river next to Thunderock (?) The Company crossed
the river and suddenly realized after traveling towards the Vast Swamp
where the dragon dwelled, that there was a massive aura of heat rising
from the swamp. At Emeralds urgings, Lorthos rode via a phantom steed to
the nearby town and learned that the Citzens spoke of ghosts, massive lizard
creatures, and the dark goddess Tiamat the Goddess of Evil Dragons and
her ghostly worshippers!!!
The heroes traveled to the
swamp and entered it, within the swamp they were met with humid heat
rather than the cold of the wintery outer lands, but they noticed that
the snow entered the humid aura and instantly became rain sprinkling down
upon them. Some kind of magic must be doing this? Was it divine, dragon
magic, or some other power??? Despite not having an answer to this question
the heroes ventured deep within. Surprisingly they were met with little
resistance during their first two days they only encountered a small
group of Ghouls, a halfling mage capable of shape shifting but unfortunently
before they could learn more of this being he was ripped apart by several
trolls which then proceeded to attempt to slay the heroes! (haha)
However, they brought some
of their own trouble with them in the form of the Iron Flask that they
took from the Dragons Hoard in the Storm Horns. When Lorthos opened it
in the swamp for whatever reason he decided to open it, a Death Slaadi
came forth out of its prison. A Battle opened as the Death Sladdi took
a millenium of vengeance out on its rescuers! Before it managed to escape
through a gate of its makings it managed to kill Emerald by conjuring a
pillar of flames to fall down upon her. Then Jaun used the Raise Dead spell
from his ring of spell storing, which brought her back to life, but she
was very weak. Then Karranna used her healing powers but quickly discovered
that it had reveresed effects and instead of healing Emerald it sent her
flailing back beyond deaths door! So they put her dead body into the sack
of transferring (the one that teleports anything put in it to a chamber
in Whispers Tower).
On the third day they
came upon a tall thicket covered hill that Karranna detected great evil
emanating from its hill top. After climbing the hill they discovered what
they could only have feared, what appeared to be Dragon Eggs (already hatched)
and thoughts of the 3rd Apocalyptic scrolls comes to mind; "The Queen of
Wyrms shall be born from the egg of her children." Then it all comes together
in their minds...this scroll must pertain to Tiamat...perhaps something
to do with an avatar of the Dark Goddess. Daleen also happened to notice
ontop this hilltop bootprints (human sized), as well as goblin tracks and
larger lizard tracks. Then suddenly Lorthos insisted they must leave and
as if in a trance he began moving at rapids speed to the northeast, unknown
to the Heroes he had falled under the charm person power of a nearby invisible
Beholder as well as the telekenesis power of the same beholder. So the
company fell behind him and tried to keep up, until they found him standing
20 or more feet within a unnaturally made tunnel heading into the side
of a large hill. They noticed that on the walls every 10 or so feet
were mirrors. Then Lorthos broke from the charmed powers and had no idea
how he got to the tunnel, then the Heroes were interrupted as a greenish
bolt was reflected down the tunnel ahead of them towards them, it was reflecting
from mirror to mirror, then as they ducked it reflected at an angle upwards
hitting a beam on the cieling disintegrating a beam of wood holding up
a quite a bit of earth and rock, which came tumbling down blocking off
the exit!
So the heroes travel
down the corridor breaking the mirrors at any chance they get so no more
magic can be reflected down the tunnel at them. Within an hour or more
they reach an open chamber with a murky waterfall, a pool of murky waters
and 4 trolls playing a game of chance with some bones and dice! a quick
fireball from Karranna destroys the four trolls where they sat before they
could get up from the stone floor. Then suddenly lorthos found himself
once again compelled to walk over to the murky pool and look within,
then to everyones horror Lorthos rose up into the air levitating up against
his will as he cried out in shock and even though he struggled to get free
nothing he could do would free himself. Then he vanished up into the tunnel
from which the waterfall poured out of.
Lorthos was pulled via telekenesis
by the once again invisible beholder up the tunnel which soon became filled
with water with no air pockets to breathe. Then he realized he was no longer
in a tunnel shaft but an larger chamber with murky waterall around him
and no air in sight! So he began to swim upwards within minutes he found
an exit tunnel upwards and begen to swim up it, then within a minute swam
up and out of the tunnel into another larger bod of murky water, adn he
swam as fast as he could manage upwards. Finally he broke the surface of
the water and found air and the afternoon sky overhead! He discovers he
is still in the swamp, but in the center of the lake.
Meanwhile underground Jaun,
Throg, Daleen and Karranna all enter the waterfall tunnel and make their
way up to the large chamber of water....Both Karranna and Jaun bear magic
to allow them to breathe under water. It is in this chamber that they suddenly
discover their menance : A beholder as its eyes begin their treacherous
work over them.... a horrific battle pursues that ends with the beholder
disintegrating Throgs body (only his armor and weapons remain behind),
Juan cutting off one of his eye stalks that he noticed to have a ring on
it, thus destorying the beholders only method for breathing underwater
(as he carried a ring of water breathing), the beholder attemps to escape
back through the way it came before it drowns however it nevers makes
it.
The 3 remaining heroes
with Throgs remains and a couple odd items they found laying in the underwater
lair of the beholder they make their way up to where Lorthos made it, to
find Lorthos swimming towards the shore some 40 feet away. Before they
could say anything to Lorthos they feel the water swell up behind them
and look over their shoulder to gaze up at the head of the Black Dragon
rising up from its own watery lair as it gazes hungrily down at its next
meal!!
Lorthos continued to land,
meanwhile Daleen headed back to aid his companions in their fight against
the dragon. Whilst Karranna dived under the water enacting her silver fire
to breathe underneath the dark corrupted waters of the Dragons Lake. Juan
swiftly enacted the powers of his battle axe and flew up into the sky towards
Lorthos on the land! The battle pursues, and the companions would truly
have not been a match for the Great Wyrm dragon has it not been for Lorthos
enacting his Staff of the magi to conjure a Water Elemental while in a
hemisphere shaped wall of force protected along side Juan! With the might
of Lorthos's magic , and quick thinking upon releasing the Water Elemental
and conjuring forth an air elemental to attack the dragon when it took
to the sky! They forced the dragon back into her marshy lake! Where it
quickly summoned 3 massive spheres of blackness so that she was hidden
away in her watery lair to lick her wounds!
Fearful to enter the waters,
the attempted to draw the dragon out of her lair without luck. And decided
to wait the night to see if teh darkness faded or if the dragon tried to
leave her lair. Morning came ('the darkness also was gone come morning)
and once again Lorthos summoned a Water Elemental to slay the dragon in
her lair! The heroes felt triumph when they witnessed the water darkening
a little above the furthest reaches of the lake. The Water Elemental has
slain the dragon!
Over the next day or so the
heroes with aid of magical spells to aid them underwater, they sifted through
the wealth and took what enchanted items that could be found among the
dragons hoard, divided up what items were personally intersting amongst
themselves and put all the coins and other items into the enchanted sack
that Whisper had given them.
Among the treasure they found
the remains of what appeared to be an elven warrior still in his elven
chain mail, whom carried an enchanted Quiver of Ehlonna. They remembered
the mystic from the town speaking of the two adventurers from their town
that had went in search of the 2 children the dragon has taken! And how
the two warriors had never returned! They felt that this must be one of
them, and felt the need to return the body to where it belonged, NOT at
the bottom of a foul lake in a swamp, next to the remains of a dead dragon!
They walked through the swamp
back towards the town. During their treck back to town they came across
troll tracks that happened to be heading in their same direction (Fresh
tracks!), so they quickened the pace! And came across a band of Trolls
led by what appeared to be an intelligent Shaman leading them. He spoke
in troll (weak common) of the Dragon Priests.... then the wind began to
pick up and a whispering laughter filled the air, followed by several bolts
of energy that came down from the canopy above the swampy waters, and each
of the trolls was frozen and entrapped in a powerful rope-like magical
binding! Then levitating down came a woman dressed in Scale Mail, with
a head piece that displayed an image of a 5 headed dragon!
After a few words on the High Priestess part,
she High priest of the Goddess of Tiamat (the Queen of Evil Dragons) vanished
with her troll victims! At this point the Heroes rush to the town to give
the elven warrior over to the mystic. The reach the town and the mystic
is overjoyed to be able to let his family know that his remains has been
recovered and that he can be given a proper burial!
Both Karranna and Lorthos attempted
teleportation magic to take them all back to Whispers Tower, but both attempts
failed! Moments after this attempt Whisper voices herself to Karranna telling
her of a great white dragon in the Glacier of the White Worm that has exstended
its powers over a peaceful warrior tribe of barbarians known as the Tribe
of the White Worm. The heroes swiftly make haste on the backs of Phantom
steeds to the Glacier of the White worm (taking several days). Upon reaching
the Glacier, they quickly find there way to the Tribes village and find
it as if they are preparing for war! Before they could react, they are
spotted by a scouting party of barbarians , the leader of the scouting
party being the leader of the villager! Lorthos summons a tongues spell
and translates for the Heroes. The Heroes uncover that the Tribe lives
in
peaceful harmony with the White She Dragon, they give it a herd of Rothe
1 every couple months and the dragons live in harmony with them acting
even as a guardian for her allies in the Glacier. The barbarians are distrustful
of the Heroes, but the Leader is a very honorable man and allows the heroes
to live, as long as they do not harm any on the land. Karranna manages
to talk the Leader in allowing her to go and speak with the Dragon. She
speaks with the she dragon whom gives her name to Karranna as Gwenavyr,
though her dragon name is unknown to perhaps even the Dragon herself. The
Dragon seems to be opposite of what Whisper had told them that she was
like (being evil), in fact she appears to be quite benevolent and is almost
a guardian of the Tribe of barbarians! They live in harmony of one another
and protect one another form harm! So then it dawns on them that perhaps
someone or something other than Whisper had given them the message to seek
out the dragon of the vale and destroy it, which in retrospect could have
started a war with the tribe! Karranna returns to her companions and relays
the information. Something is amiss.
