                                                        ASIAN CUISINE

Based on the Restaurant Guide, there are more than 323 Chinese restaurants in Columbus. And Asian Cuisine is one of them and considered one of the top ten Chinese restaurants.  Its located on 8008 North High Street, Columbus.  It is a very noticeable restaurant because of its decoration, atmosphere, food, and music.

The restaurants structure is very unique and formal.  The buildings color is white with a robins egg blue roof.  Its roof is unique and beautiful because of the four blue dragons decorations, which gives it an oriental structure.   A big red sign with a gold Chinese symbol is on the outside near the main entrance.  There are green bushes around the base of the sign.  To the left of the building, there is a big parking lot that can accommodate up to 50 vehicles.  The lot is usually full on Saturdays and Sundays.  Across from the parking lot, theres a big shopping center, which is very crowded.  However, behind the restaurant, theres a little pond that is peaceful.  In the summer time, there are flowers around the pond making life more spiritual. In winter, the pond has its own beauty.  Its a cold, silent atmosphere.

The restaurants interior has a lovely setting and decorations. The main doors are made out of glass, and they have gold doorknobs.  On the two sides of the doors, there are gold Chinese words that have been attached vertically.    Customers entering the restaurant are greeted with warm smells of delicious food.  There is a red carpet with Asian decoration that has been placed on the path from the main entrance to the host.   The host does his job well by nicely greeting the customers with a proper manner.  He says, Hello, how are you doing today?  He will walk the customers to their tables.

Behind the host, there are a few steps that lead the customers to the dining room.  The floor is covered with the red carpet.  As soon as the customers get down to the last step, there is something that stands out the most: a piano.  It has been placed to the left side of the restaurant.  A small stage is behind it where customers could use it for parties or celebrations.

The lights, tables and chairs in Asian Cuisine are very unique and Oriental.  The chairs and tables are dark-color woods. There are engraved dragons and other Chinese decorations on them, which give a sense of oriental tradition.  There are numbers of customers who have complained about the chairs.  They say such things as: The art engraving on the chairs is pleasant to the eyes, but not too comfortable to sit on.  But there are other customers who really appreciate them.  Once, there was a customer on his way out of the restaurant who said to the host, The way you guys have set up the tables and chairs here just look romantic to me somehow.  Each table has its own lights, and I think that it is very nice. And the flowers, too.  Truly, the lights and flowers on each table do give a pleasant feeling for the customers.

The lights are dimmed and give a relaxed, cozy feeling. On the tinted lenses of the lights, there are flowers that have been decorated on them.    Flowers always make people happier; therefore, Asian Cuisine always has flowers that have been arranged in small vases place on each table.  Customers do really appreciate the flowers.

Most of the customers who go to Asian Cuisine are Asian. On Saturdays and Sundays, Asian people go there for dim sum.  During that time, its like an Asian Club.  Each table has its own language.  There are Chinese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Japanese, English, and other languages.
