=================================================================== | How To Type In Your Name So That You Have Colors And Stuff | =================================================================== By Mike Rotch http://zap.to/MikeRotch Last Updated: 05-21-01 I recommend printing this out for more convienence. In the TetriNET rooms, you will usually find fellow players with cool colors in their TetriNET name. There are programs that will give you a colored name (found in http://zap.to/MikeRotch), but if you'd rather do it yourself, here's how to do it: **COLOR NAME** [1] Open an MS-DOS prompt. The shortcut to this program is usually found by clicking START, then PROGRAMS, then MS-DOS PROMPT. [2] Type in "edit" (no quotations) and press enter. [3] Type in name and desired colors (scroll all the way to the bottom for more info). [4] Save file into a folder (I'd use the tetrinet one) as "filename.txt" (make sure you save it as a .txt file, and you remember what folder you saved it in). [5] Exit DOS. [6] Open Windows Notepad. The shortcut to this program is usually found by clicking START, then PROGRAMS, then ACCESSORIES, then NOTEPAD. [7] Open the file that you had just created from the MS-DOS PROMPT. [8] Highlight all of your name by using the mouse. [9] Copy it by holding Ctrl and pressing c, or clicking on Edit, then Copy, from the toolbar. [10] Open the TetriNET program if it is not already open. [10] Click on the text box where you type your name in in the TetriNET program. [11] Hold Ctrl, then press and hold v, then while holding both buttons, click on "Start Server" or "Connect" (depends if your serving or not). [12] You is done. NOTE: Having a color name (doesn't matter if you manually made it or used a program that gave your name colors) apparently increases the risk of a startup error. This doesn't happen often, but if it does, there are several ways to fix it.
