Have you ever downloaded picture files from your camera and had to rename and renumber them to put them in your picture directory? Are the programs to help with this that are bundled with image editing software not powerful enough? Are the stand alone programs too expensive or complicated? I thought so too, so I took it upon myself to correct this dilema and develop my own application. Here is Picture Name Change v1.1.
Picture Name Change will allow you to select picture files, enter a descriptive name, set the number style and increment start point, and move them to a new location on your hard drive, or mapped network drive.
This application was developed using Visual Basic 6.0, and was tested on Windows 9x and ME. Let me know if you have any trouble running on a different platform, and I will take this into consideration for any future release.
As with the rest of my utilities, you may download and distribute freely, but please give credit (or blame) where it is due.
The download contains the executable, a help file and a shortcut for your desktop. The help file is not accessible through the app (sorry, I really wrote this for me, and I don't need the help file ... maybe in a future release?). I hope you enjoy this app.
