| When we last left our heroes, they had just entered the underground city beneath Fiziks in search of the old man�s daughter captured by the Knirds. Our team surveys the streets, broken down buildings, and neon lights around them. �This doesn�t look like the good part of town.� remarks Thaelia. �This place doesn�t have a good part.� replies Feral. �Well, let�s just hurry and get out of here, I have a bad feeling about this place.� says Jael. �So do I.� replies Phaedra �Why do you say that?� asks Tina. �Look behind us.� They all turn their heads to see out of the corner of their eye what is behind them. They see a growing mob of people carrying crowbars, chains, lead pipes, and tire irons. They look ahead of them and see the exact same in front of them. �Holy shit, I think we�ve found the Knirds.� remarks Blasto. �No. I think they found us.� replies Feral. The team backs itself into a circle, with their backs toward each other. The gang members are pounding their weapons into their hands, smiling and laughing. They know they outnumber the heroes 100,000 to 6. �Guys, get ready.� says Feral, �This is gonna get rough. Remember, we have a city over our heads. Don�t get too fancy.� Our heroes draw their weapons and ready themselves for a fight for their very lives. Suddenly, it gets quiet. Dead quiet. Nobody moves. Nobody talks. Then like a lightening bolt, the angry mob of gang members rushes the team. Feral, Blasto, Jael, Thaelia draw their swords, while Tina conjures a sword from her to use. Phaedra quickly grabs her Egyptian Ankh and summons Ifrit and Odin, the powerhouses of her summons. However, the team itself has no choice but to split up as the mob converges on their location. Feral and Blasto take on part, while Tina and Phaedra take another and Jael and Thaelia take another. Feral�s sword glows white with pure energy as he rushes into the mob with his sword pointed forward, skewering many of the foes. Blasto leaps over Feral with a high flip and throws his sword into the mob. When the sword hits the ground Blasto sends a flame beam from his hands into his sword and causes the beam to reflect of the sword into many directions, burning the immediate area around the sword into ashes. Feral kicks the corpses off his sword and takes a tire iron club right to the head, sending him to the floor to get ganged-up on by hundreds of enemies. Finally, Feral has had enough. He grabs his sword and, using what he was �taking care of� in Fiziks, splits his sword into two smaller swords. Wave after wave are sliced as Feral moves deftly among the ranks slicing and dicing his enemies. Blasto runs and grabs his sword and joins Feral mowing through the opposition. The action splits over to Tina and Phaedra, who are themselves doing damage, just not with swords. Ifrit and Odin are protecting from ambushes from behind while Phaedra and Tina fight the oncoming mob with their magic. Lightning, ice, fire, wind, water, every element that Tina and Phaedra possess are called forth and used to smite down foes, but it�s just not enough. Tina looks up, considers her options, and realizes she has no choice. The roof might cave in, but she has no choice. �Phaedra! Summon Anima! We�ve got to pull out all the stops here!� With a blast of magic power, Phaedra eradicates the enemies surrounding her, giving her and Tina enough time to possibly destroy everything. Tina drives her staff deep into the ground and a black lightning bolt leaps upward, forming a giant hole in the ceiling. Thankfully, the ceiling doesn�t collapse, but through Tina�s black eyes, you get the feeling that she really didn�t care. Simultaneously, Anima emerges next to Phaedra and Visara lands next to Tina�s staff. Now, with Odin and Ifrit protecting their backs and Visara and the death-summon Anima fighting the front, Phaedra and Tina just sit back and relax, then get blind-sided from the side by a thousand more gang members. A metal iron club comes crashing across Tina�s face, sending her careening over the crowd and into Blasto and Feral, who fall in a heap of dust. �OW! Damnit! Tina, get off of my spleen.� �Sorry, Feral.� She quickly raises and feels the swell on the side of her face. As she feels her battle scar, her anger is swelling just as much as her cheek. �That�s IT!!� Tina throws her staff to the ground and forms an X using her forearms. With her fists clenched she throws her arms down, releasing the power she has been gathering. A wave of magical energy surrounds her and spreads out, killing all those who it touches. She then looks over where she previously was that a massive amount of foes have mounted Phaedra and are beating the ever-loving shit out of her. Feral rushes over to her aid, leaping in the air and using his twin air-blades to create a vortex, sucking up the enemies around Phaedra through the hole in the ceiling. Out of the corner of his eye, however, he notices a giant eruption of lava and ice. At the center of this eruption stand Jael and Thaelia amongst many dead bodies. The waves of gang members are falling like sitting ducks as Thaelia and Jael use their elemental powers flowing from their hands to decimate their foes; however, they get flanked by a large group of enemies and are forced to the ground. All the remaining enemies are rushing towards them to gang up on them. However, our heroes are trying as fast as they can to catch up and provide assistance. A blinding flash of light and the sound of an explosion, however, halt our hero�s advances. Everyone on the pile ganging up on Thaelia and Jael flies backwards from the mere force of the explosion. Standing in the center of the explosion are two entities, one made of molten rock, the other of cold, hard ice. These two entities are actually Thaelia and Jael! When pushed over the edge, they sometimes loose control over their abilities and exist in the purest form of their element. Dividing the remaining enemies in half, Jael and Thaelia split off and each take a half. Thaelia forms a giant molten rock lava ball and throws it into the air. Leaping up towards it, she back flips and kicks it into the center of the fallen gang members. When the ball hits the ground, it explodes and rains down molten rain upon her foes, torturing then until their fiery demise. Thaelia lands hard on the ground, making the very ground shake. Then, she reverts back to her normal state and passes out. Jael now sets herself up for her ultimate attack. Using her breath, she forms giant icicles and then splits them in twain to form many more icicles, smaller, but sharper and faster. Forming hundreds of these in a matter of seconds, she hurls then forward with a forward thrust of her hands. They fly towards her foes and penetrate their bodies; leaving them with a slow, cold death. She then reverts to her normal state and passes out. As the rest of our heroes look on in awe, they wonder what deep and hidden powers these two warriors� posses. Surveying the damage, no one save our heroes is left standing. Buildings have been obliterated, streets destroyed. As our heroes near Thaelia and Jael, a question runs through Feral�s mind. �I get the feeling that old man wasn�t all he was cracked up to be. These guys knew we were coming. They had too.� He looks at Jael and Thaelia. �Man, I�m glad those girls are on our side.� As they attempt to awaken Thaelia and Jael, our heroes can only wonder what this whole thing was about. How indeed did they know they were coming? As Feral puts his hand on Jael�s forehead, he looks up through the hole in the ceiling and notices a shadowy figure looking down on the battlefield. �Hey, guys. Look up.� The rest of the team turns their head towards the heavens and notices the shadowy figure. �I guess Round one goes to you. Round two starts now!� The shadowy figure leaps down out of the hole and into the underground city, landing with a cloud of dust far away from our heroes. TO BE CONTINUED� |
