Band history
Kaare, Uffe, Henrik and Michael were all members of the Genesis Mailing list 'Paperlate' back in 1997-98. Uffe and Michael even got in contact through 'Paperlate'. And Michael had known Henrik since 1993 and Henrik had known Kaare since some Genesis concert back in the '80s. We all started out trading and eventually we got together all four of us for dinner, wine and some good old Genesis music.
The four of us live within a distance of 25 km. so we had no problems
getting together 3-4 times a year.
At our Genesis dinner in Kaare's apartment in
the center of Copenhagen on January 22nd. 2000, we discussed the possibilities of
actually getting together for a Genesis jam.
We had all played in different bands, but some of us hadn't played
for 17 years.
Henrik was the only one playing in a band. And he even had a rehearsal room
at 'The Brew', right beside the Copenhagen harbour, that we could use!
Everything was ready. We agreed on a date, February 26th. 2000. And we had a discussion on
which numbers to play. When we went home that night we had all agreed on 'Squonk',
'Carpet Crawl' and 'Afterglow'.
The first jam was a success. It was really funny getting together and playing. And we all thought it sounded alright.
The four of us rehearsed for a year. We only had 7 reheasals the first year. At the 8. rehearsal in January 2001 we brought in a new guy, Per, to do the lead vocals and some keyboards which we also felt we needed badly. Per is an old friend of Michael's, old neighbours infact since early childhood and up until we were 14-15 years old.
4 months later we were lucky when Frank accepted the invitation to play along at our 13. rehearsal. Henrik and Frank are both members of DKProgList on the internet. But several of us met Frank at Spock's Beard's concert here in Copenhagen. Frank is also a guitarist/keyboardist/composer in Etcetera, a Danish prog-band.
We improved rapidly after Per and Frank joined the band. We are a mixed group of people. Some of us are still active musicians and some of us haven't played for many, many years. This can sometimes be heard but mostly we are able get a great 'Genesis-like' sound.
We have existed for 2� years now (June 2002) and we have rehearsed 27 times and we hope we will improve even more. Most of all we look forward doing or first gig in September 2002.BR>
