Das Tote Calzone

Live

Eleventh Earl of Mar
First time we did 'Eleventh Earl' live

Thanks to all who turned up at our last gig at Christianshavns Beboerhus in Copenhagen on Saturday 12th. June 2004.
Special thanks to Andy Wilkinson who came all the way from England to see the gig. And thanks for helping out, Andy.
It was a pleasure playing for all of you, being such a cheerful crowd.
And thanks for the positive feedback we have received.

We arrived with the gear at 1 pm and immediately started setting up the P.A. system and the monitor system. The P.A. system may have seemed big and it was, but playing classic Genesis music you need some extra horsepower to get the massive wall of sound across to the audience.

We were all very exited about this gig. It was the first time we did a concert with the Mellotron M400 and a Shergold Custom Double 6/12, natural. And with the Taurus pedals we felt we were ready to reproduce the classic Genesis sound.

We opened the show with 'Watcher of the Skies' with the Mellotron filling the hall with its beautiful sound. We were all a bit nervous at first but we soon relaxed and enjoyed it ourselves.

We immediately went on with 'Squonk', '..In that Quiet Earth' and 'Firth of Fifth' before we welcomed the audience to the concert.
Then followed by 'Eleventh Earl of Mar' which we did live for the first time. Up next was our "Lamb stew", seven songs from 'The Lamb lies down'.. album. We did 'The Lamb', 'Fly on a Windshield', Broadway Melody..', 'Back in NYC, 'Hairless Heart', 'In the Rapids' and 'IT'. 'Rapids' was also a "first time live" song.

Dance....
Trying to dance on a volcano...

After a short intermission we carried on with 'Dance on a Volcano'. We were then ready for the grand finale, 'Supper's Ready'. First time we did this masterpiece live. This is really a classic Genesis epic lasting 23+ minutes when we do it.

After a short introduction of the band we carried on with our two encores: 'Los Endos' and 'The Knife'.

Tired but happy

Thanks to Dan for helping out with the slideshow. Our sound engineer, Thomas, also did a great job. Thanks!
And thanks to Marianne and Heino for taking care of the bar. And to the boys collecting the (many) empty bottles!

We are all looking forward seeing you all again, and maybe some new people, as well, next time we do a gig.

Cheers,

Frank, Henrik, Kaare, Per, Uffe and Michael
