Working Hard for Words
My writing style is very similar to my cooking. When I arrive at work, I have to figure out what I am going to whip up. I grab my paper and pencil and start preparing some thoughts. The thought process normally takes ten to fifteen minutes. Once all my thoughts are put into one big bowl, I take my finger and dip it inside the bowl to get a taste for the words. If I get a bitter or salty taste I add or remove flavor. Once I have gotten the mix just right, I am ready to put all my thoughts in one pan and begin cooking. It normally takes forty-five minutes to an hour before I finish my cooking. While the food cooks, I am getting excited because of the sensational smell, and the longer it cooks the more I can recognize the outcome. Once the cooking process is finished, I begin to examine the food. If the food is under cooked, the meal may turn out dull. On the other hand, if it is over cooked the meal may be very lumpy and cluttered. After getting the food cooked just right, I remove the pan from the stove and let it sit. Normally before I serve my food to my guest, I let a cook or two sample the food that I have prepared. The cooks give me their opinion on what should be changed if anything. If the food is too dull I normally add some seasoning to spice it up. If the food is too lumpy, I may add water or milk to break down the food or I may remove food from the pan. When I am done with the final touches, I am ready to serve to my guests. Now that the food is in front of my guests every one prays. My guests pick up their pens and begin to devourer the meal. I normally don't like watching my guest eat, because of their reactions while grading the food. Once the guests are finished they leave the unwanted words or phrases on the empty plate. As the guests are leaving they are handed a survey card, which grades the food on a scale from zero to a hundred and they areasked to give a final grade on the meal. Once the survey cards are returned the results are tallied them up. If the final results are below an eighty average, I normally do not use the recipe again. On most foods I get back positive results.
