What is a Career Inventory? A career inventory is described as a series of questions to inform the reader on what type of job field would be best suited for the taker. There are many different types of inventories available for this purpose, for example there is the Birkman Method Career Style Summary, The Career Interests Game The Career Development Manual, The Career Search Questionnaire and The what Career is for you inventory. The two inventories that I selected were the Career Search Questionnaire and What Career is for you.The Career Search Questionnaire consists of a number of questions that ask about the persons feelings and thoughts on different subjects. These question relate to the benefits received from the job, for example, what type of working conditions do you prefer, does your salary effect your pick on a job or would you rather select a job that offers a variety of benefits As a result of the questionnaire, I have learned that I have an unlimited number of career choices to choose from that fit what I am looking for, ranging from a police officer to a dental hygienist. The second inventory that I selected was titledWhat Career isfor you. This questionnaire consisted of twenty-one questions asking me to select the best answer based on what choice I would rather do. I found that this inventory was not as helpful as the first, because it did not give me valuable information. At the end of my search, the career choices listed were that of a labor work such as a welder or a construction worker. This inventory can be fallible because there were no career choices listed that were of any interest to me. |
