Theories:
| The Doctor did NOT have more incarnations than those we've seen, as suggested in The Brain of Morbius |
Evidence: Age vs Story (which yields this graph:)  Black = Gaps where the Doctor could have aged any amount. Green = Encases the period when the Doctor could have aged any amount, due to travelling with another TimeLord(Lady). Yellow = Regenerations. Blue = Stated age. Magenta = Latest guess at age. I believe, as sensible fans have speculated, that the other faces shown during the mind contest are those of Morbius' incarnations. |

The Doctor's psychic connection with his people is noted in several stories. Usually the TimeLords contact him using it, and other times he's linked his mind to others at short range - including himself. But since The Time War he's felt he was alone. It is many fans' theory that other TimeLords survived. However I offer a new idea why the Doctor cannont sense them: TimeLords' psychic abilities are weak, and amplified by their technology. The Matrix - The Repository of Time Lord Minds is the obvious candidate. |
