Daryl and I are expecting "our" first child, a baby girl, in December. The ultrasound pictures showed a HEALTHY BABY GIRL. Daryl and I could not keep the tears from falling when the ultrasound technician typed 4 CHAMBERED HEART. Daryl and I decided to decorate Alissa's room in Precious Moments. We are all done with her room and are waiting on a baby!
Alissa Nicole was born at 12:33 a.m. on December 8, five days past my due date. She was 8 pounds 14 ounces and 20 3/4 inches long. She scored a 9 both times on her apgar tests. My water started leaking on Wenesday night, it leaked all day Thursday and finally at 2:30 on Thursday, I called my doctor's office and they said to come on in. I drove myself there because I worked all day, and I got there about 3:00. I was hooked up to the monitores and to my surprise, I was having contractions. I was 3 centimeters when checked and 50%-70% effaced. Nine hours later, and with only one shot of demoral, I was pushing. Five pushes and our baby girl was born! It was a wonderful experience.
Alissa is now 5 years old. She is a joy! She knows how to write and is learning how to read.
On June 18, 2002, Abbigail Grace Spencer was born. She weighed in at 6 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 inches long. Unlike her tomboy sister, Abbi is a prissy girl. She loves dressing herself and LOVES shoes just like her Aunt Kayla. Alissa and Abbi both started Preeschool September 6, 2005. God has blessed us over and over again.
