Jackson Journal Deputation 2007-8
It's been quite awhile since we last wrote the Jackson Journal in the spring of 2007.  A lot has happened since then. We came home for our year of furlough the end of March 2007.  Our plans were to present ourselves to the WMPL council for reappointment then on to the Midwest, Pacific Northwest and California visiting churches, sharing what the Lord has been doing in Mexico during our last term.
When we left Mazatlan it was getting quite warm and humid.  Just a few days later we found ourselves, on Easter morning, in a snow storm in Colorado Springs. It was so beautiful. Grace didn't remember anything about snow from our last home assignment. Not much of it in Mexico!
A few days later we met with the World Mission Prayer League in Minneapolis and were welcomed back for a third term.  We went on our way rejoicing as we began a four month deputation.

Our first church was in Valley City, ND.  It was good to be back in the states and have fellowship with our English speaking brethren. We make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps Proverbs 16:9. This is were 'our' plans were changed.  The next day Mary Ann's mother phoned to say she was dying of cancer.  The next morning Grace and Mary Ann boarded a plane and flew to Imperial Beach, Cal. to the home where Mary Ann grew up in, to care for her mother. She passed away at home in September.  All of your prayers were felt and we give thanks for each one of them. The family of God is so wonderful, there is nothing else like it here on earth!

From April through July Darwin continued on to Washington, Oregon and California to speak in churches.  Grace joined him in his travels in June and then they joined Mary Ann in Imperial Beach in July.  Not only did God give Darwin many opportunities to share in churches, but Grace and he had wonderful times together traveling, camping, visiting with family and friends.  God is good!
Here it is February 2008.  Mary Ann and Grace are still in Imperial Beach.  Mary Ann has the responsibility of selling the family home.  Please pray it sells soon.
Grace had corrective surgery on both feet and still has a follow up visit later this month.  After that Darwin will come and move them to our home in Nogales.
Our third term began in January.  Darwin made a trip to Mazatlan to visit the churches and work there.  He was very encouraged to see the Lord working in the lives of the brethren and calling some to leadership roles.
We miss working aside all of them but know that it is God's will for us now to be working aside the two congregations in Nogales, Sonora. We ask that you continue to pray for us as we seek to plant new churches, edify the existing ones and make trips to the agriculture camps to minister among the indigenous workers.
Deputation is not all fun and games!
This was a very sad day for all of us.
We love camping
