$50.00, is that All? A retold story By Artie Davis Jr. My Grandma was born on December 22nd 1929. Her name is Dolores Davis. She was the youngest of 2 kids. She went to P.S. 217 and Midwood High School. She was the vice president for Abstract Title Company, she worked for many other title companys and she worked for "Adler Shoes." She married Theodore Davis in 1950. In 1955 Michael Davis was born. In 1958 Arthur Davis is born. My Grandma loved looking for antiques. My Grandma, my dad and my Grandpa had van seats that were made to fold out into a bed. So they stayed over night at antique shows. One day around 5:00 in the morning, my grandma went to buy antiques. She went so early because if she went later, all the good things would have been sold. This is when something greathappened! My Grandma liked a clock that someone was selling, so she got it for $50.00. My Grandma showed everyone when they woke up. They liked it. When they got home they looked it up to see how much it was worth. My dad, my Grandma and my Grandpa were shocked! It was worth about $1000.00! And back when it happened, $1000.00 was worth much more then it is now. They were happy and shocked when this happened. If my Grandma did not go out early that morning, someone else would have got it!
