| My favorite games are all very close, but this game takes the cheese for favorite game of Darth Sabin during the time I type this review! This was the first game I've ever gotten for the Xbox, and it's a very special game, indeed. Time for the review: Average game time to beat one side (light or dark side)= 30 hours Game Time I've played (both sides)= A little more than 40 hours Gameplay-9.5: Very cool. There are two system styles. To clarify that, there's the neutral command system (in which you're just walking around the city or planet, talking to people, engaging in trades, etc.) and there's the combat command system (in which you fight others, but more will be said in the fighting part of this review...). There are also two sides to this game, the light side (you're with the Jedi Council and the Republic), and the dark side (you're with the Sith) and it isn't mandatory for you to complete both sides, but if you feel like being an evil character after beating the game with a good character, I say "Go for it!" The game is never boring to me if I'm playing, but there were some problems with playing this game: GLITCHES! There were barely any glitches when I played my first file (light side), but when I played my second file (dark side), there must've been at least 20 glitches throughout the game, so be cautious of those by saving continuously and since there's so much space on an Xbox hard drive, why not keep multiple files, just in case...First time I was introduced to this type of gaming, and I LOVE it! Graphics-9.5: Stunning...absolutely beautiful. For me, graphics aren't that big of a deal to me, just as long as I know what's happening, I'm alright, and this game was definitely more than alright. The cinematic scenes when you leave planets look even better than real life. The graphics while you're playing aren't amazing, but they are a little better than average (I'm fine with that)! The graphics are probably better on the PC, but I didn't care about the graphics after seeing the Xbox graphics. Audio-10: Star Wars. That's all that needs to be said. There is great music, old and new. The composer, John Williams, is a genius. The music never disappoints and it all goes along with the events that occur (can't ask for anything more). Storyline-9.5: Classic Star Wars story with your own custom character. If you don't appreciate Star Wars, you could still enjoy the game's storyline, but you'll probably miss the point of it, then. There's some plot twists here and there, not too many, not too little. The main villian is a good villian, too, which is a little hard to come across these days... Fighting-10: This style of fighting is one of the best styles of fighting ever! I mean, who doesn't love blasters, lightsabers, and force powers? It's not just the weapons, though, that I appreciated; I appreciated the RPG-like fighting where you select something and then two seconds later, your character fulfills that task to the best of their abilities. In this game, you're not ambushed by a group of enemies where the screen flashes and then you go into battle; You can see the enemy, and when you get close enough, it'll go into the combat command system. A Jedi is the best warrior I've ever seen; they can use Force Jump to attack an enemy from far away, they can throw their lightsabers to inflict damage from this ranged attack, and they can cast powers like Force Storm to shock their opponents. The combat that takes place in the game is choreographed beautifully as well, so it actually looks like their fighting. Best style of fighting? Possibly..... Score: 10/10 There you have it! My review on my favorite game so far. Not very interesting, but I had to do it and you know what? It's your fault for clicking here...anyway, I'll soon review Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords when I get it in December (2 months away!!!)...... |
