IRC: Chat rules?
The moderators of this server have decided the following rules for the irc.sega.com. If you use this IRC, you MUST follow these rules. Violation of these rules result in a ban from the server (possibly permanent).
1.Remember any rule can be changed with permission from an IRC operator. IRC operators have final say on the interpretation of the rules.
2.NO CLONES, BOTS, IRCWAR, IMERSONATING, HARASSMENT, RACISM, SPOOFING, WAREZ, WARGROUPS, THREATS, or TAKEOVERS.
3.Please don't type in all caps. It's considered shouting and is interpreted as rude. Please also refrain from flooding or spamming the channel with text.
Some channels on irc.sega.com are moderated. This means there are channel operators and bots that enforce the rules. You can be kicked and eventually banned for breaking the rules. The following channels are moderated and have special rules designed to promote a kid-friendly environment.
1.#dreamcast, #dreamcast2, #sonic, #sega, #segasports, #chao. These are usually (but not always) moderated channels with cuss bots, no caps rule, no bad nicks, no sexual content, no drug topics or references to drugs, no adult oriented topics, no racism, and no MP3 playing. Please abide by channel rules. Any violation of these rules will initially result in a kick, and further violation will result in a ban from the channel.If someone is bothering you, please tell a channel operator. Shouting into the channel to tell someone off is not recommended, since a bot will most likely kick you from the channel.
2.#help This channel is also usually (but not always) moderated with the same rules as the other channels. This is where you will find help for your Dreamcast questions or an IRC for any problems you may have or general questions.
3.Other channels You are welcome to start up any of your own channels.
Please register channels with the ChanServ to ensure ownership and ops of the channel. This will prevent takeovers and will allow you to decide who is allowed on the channel. A reminder to our long time users: you do know the rules and if you break them, you will either be kicked, banned, disconnected or permanently banned from the server. Let's make this a pleasant chatting experience for all. Also, please remember to work with the IRCops/Admins - they do run the server. They will bend over backwards to help you if you just follow the rules.
