CI: naw, I have other good games, I mean, the final fantasy games were all fun, and puzzle games are a blast, and you know that I'm a warcraft 3 fiend
DF: see I don't see how you could enjoy FFX and not those Zelda games

CI: and auron was damn neat
DF: the dialogue was painful
CI: so was lulu and yuna
DF: the characters were(for the most part) annoying
DF: If I saw Tidus in real life I would try my best to strangle him before he got a chance to speak
CI: but see, the thing I dig about final fantasy games is that it isn't the same damn character saving the same damn world

CI: saving the same world with the same character gets old after the 2432384750235th time
DF: yeah most FF games are good, but FFX just wasn't as good
DF: but in Zelda it's not the same guy
CI: and when i saw windwaker, it seemed like ocarina only thus new lame looking character design with 2 inch arms and a 1 inch sword
DF: they're all named Link because they are the chosen ones of their time period.

CI: thats why i played DMC2 for 1 minute and went "this is the same thing, out the window"
DF: see, that's everybody's mistake when they look at wind waker is not getting past the look of the game. You don't complain about the huge ass eyes and nigh nonexistent noses of anime characters
CI: but the controlls and combat were the same!
DF: no they weren't, they added the parry

DF: you had a grappling hook, you sailed the ocean in a boat
CI; they have a hookshot?

DF: but the grappling hook is cooler, it has that swinging to the rescue feel
CI: sorry flynn, I played through windwaker for a while at my pals house, wasn't interested
DF: you get a cannon on your ship and fight things on the high seas
CI: yeah that talking ship ruled!
DF: stick with it, it gets much much better

DF: see the plot behind Wind Waker is that at the end of Ocarina of Time when the first chosen one banished Ganon to the Dark World, he then went back in time 10 years right?
DF: so he could live out the rest of his childhood
CI: i know
DF: BUT when he did that it created two Hyrule timelines. Two universe. One where Ganon never took over(the one he returned to and continued to protect) and the one that Ganon had conquered in OOT

DF: anyway, Wind Waker takes place in the universe Ganon had taken over. Well after the chosen one disappeared(returned to the other universe) he returned and there was no one to oppose him. The people of Hyrule asked the goddesses for help and in an attempt to contain Ganon they flooded the world and contained the center of Hyrule in a bubble of stopped time
DF: the tops of the mountains became islands and the people lived on.
