Respect is something that comes easy to some
and not at all to others. I have been in search of respect
my entire life. I was raised on Tattooine. A place the Empire
got respect through sheer terror. I could see the fear and
respect the locals gave to the stormtroopers and wanted the
same. I also saw the Hutts get respect. Their respect was
due more to money than fear which was more to my taste. If
they didn't like you, you'd just disappear.
I approached the local underboss of Jabba the Hutt and
asked for employment as a "bodyguard". After a
test or two, one of which included collecting weekly tribute
from a local merchant, I was hired. The pay was low and
the hours were murder. The job was more beating up the weak
and getting respect from them than anything else. I got
sick of it real quick. My employment was short-lived.
After not getting what I was looking for from my former
employer and having to make a hasty getaway from Tattooine
I decided to try the Empire. I knew going in that their
"tests" would be much more difficult than Jabba's.
After a short interview I was persuaded to try my luck elsewhere
and did just that. After losing all my possessions to the
Empire, including my blaster, I had a new enemy in my life.
I wanted to get back at them whenever I could. I would gain
my respect my way on my terms. Maybe I should try the New
Republic?
