Karowhtlianien, Karo for short, was raised
among the thriving spaceports that provide for trade throughout
the galaxy. Spending more time on a spaceship than he ever
did planetside, or even portside, if he could call any planet
home it would be Tatooine. His father was a smuggler, primarily
for the Huts, running weapons and other commodities to the
dusty planet was one of the most profitable ventures at the
time. While Karo hoped to follow in his father's not so illustrious
footsteps after a disagreement over a cargo slip with the
Huts his father was shot and the spaceship "repossessed",
Karo was fortunate to have been in the city purchasing supplies
at the time. Afterwards he hired himself out as a crew member
on any ship searching for one, hopping from port to port whether
as smuggler, bounty hunter, guard, or simple trader. While
the Empire was strict Karo was largely able to stay under
their radar, not posing any serious threat. All that changed
when he unknowingly signed onto a crew that was smuggling
weapons and other supplies to the Rebels. Once assisting the
Rebels it was impossible to remain out of the Empire's sights,
or safely join another crew, in fear of any informants. He
spent the next years staying one step ahead of Imperial agents,
his only choice to continue assisting the Rebels in the vain
hope the rebellion might actually succeed, but in reality
seeing it as the only way to prolong his life. None were as
surprised as he when the Empire crumbled and the rebels took
power. While he had helped the rebellion he had done little
enough to receive recognition and was largely cast loose at
the end of the war, smugglers no longer providing a key source
of goods. Karo went back to rebuilding his fortunes in the
hopes of purchasing his own ship and crew, a space junky to
the bone and knowing little of any other life...
