CYBERWARE

Some cyberware grades that I thought would be interesting to add.  Actual pieces of cyberware will be coming soon, after I have done some number crunching.

Old Tech Cyberware

We are all familiar with the current grades of cyberware, but with the SOTA constantly increasing, we sometimes forget that there was cyberware back in 2020.  In order to reflect this, I have come up with some Old Tech cyberware grades.  Basically, I've just used the Alpha, Beta, Delta grades in reverse, so we can call them Alpha1, Beta1, Delta1, for convenience.

There are (further) disadvantages with the Old Tech cyberware:

Firstly, each one is limited with regards to its final essence cost (the final number cannot surpass 6; there were no cyberzombies in the past, and no one is really making this stuff anymore).

Secondly, each grade has a 'virtual' level of Stress attached to it. It can never be removed, counts towards actual Stress in the Stress tests, and for repair purposes.

Thirdly, it is a little harder to find the Beta1 and Delta1 grade cyberware.  The rarity is reflected in an increased Availability.

Grade Essence Cost Increase Cost Multiplier Availability Virtual Stress Points

Alpha1

+25% (x 1.25) .5 Standard 1

Beta1

+66% (x 1.66) .25 +2/ x 1.5 3

Delta1

+100% (x 2) .125 +4/ x 3 6

Zeta Grade Cyberware

Nothing stands still, especially when it comes to technology.  Rumours have started to spread that a new grade of cyberware has been developed - Zeta Grade.  Rumour also has it that only three facilities have access to the cyberware, and surgeons capable of implanting it.  The big money is on Renraku, Aztechnology, and Saeder-Krupp.

This cyberware should not be made available to players unless they have done something very exceptional.  Even opposition will be unlikely to be using any of this cyberware, unless the game is very high powered.  It is presented here merely to reflect the next step in cyberware development.
