DART adventures don't just apply to great vistas.  They are comical in and of themselves.  DART (especially A & R) seem to find adventures without really looking.  For instance:

Know what this is?

How many times has this happened to you? This is a picture of April's belt-pack.  Why is this so interesting?  Well, honestly it isn't.  But when you take into consideration that the car keys are in this pack, that the doors to the car are locked, that we are sitting in the middle of a meadow as the sun is going down with a cooler full of food (Bear warning signs abound in Yosemite), and that the spare key April brought for just such an emergency is also locked in the car (with the cell phone and our money), the situation does in fact get quite interesting!

Kevin The Hero saves the day!!Luckily we were able to get some help, and we voted the hero of the day to be Kevin.  The nice guy who helped us out of a real jam.  Here is Kevin lecturing April on the finer points of having a spare key that is not kept IN THE CAR!!!

"Don't worry, I have both foreign and domestic ROCKS."

Even though I promised not to divulge this DART member's identity, this picture is just too cool to not show the world.  You may notice that some of us had a picnic on some rock in a river.  Guess who fell in?

Don't tell her I told you!

Here are some really interesting people we met while deer watching. What fun is going on a vacation adventure if you keep it all to yourselves?  We met some great folks on Wednesday in a meadow full of deer.  We all watched the sun set on Half Dome rock, and the deer put on a little display for all of us to see.  Unfortunately the pictures didn't come out all that well because of photographic equipment error.  Okay, okay, I screwed it up.  Low light means you use a slower shutter speed.  When that happens, any movement you make will blur the pictures.  What I learned is: bring a tri-pod!

Below are the most salvageable of the deer pictures (click on them to see the full size shots) and the picture you see above is the DART team with the cool folks we met.

April, Rosemary, and JimHere are Rosemary and April with our new friend Jim.  We met Jim on the bus trip back from Glacier Point and told him we'd link to his web site once it was finished.  Jim is priest and an author of religious texts visiting from England.  Have a safe trip back Jim, it was nice talking with you!  Be sure to send us your email address when you get back!
