These are my children. Devon, on the right, is my oldest. He will be 15 this summer. Kate just turned 13. Both kids are Reiki practitioners. (See Reiki page for more information on Reiki.) Devon Devon is an incredible kid. He is smart, funny, kind and very artistic. He draws, sings, acts and was a dancer for five years. He has ADHD. (See ADHD page for more information.) Due to his fairly severe affliction, Devon takes medication. I was an "anti" when it came to medication for many years, and tried many alternative therapies first. Although many of them helped, none were effective enough to get him through a school day. Our hope is that soon Devon will no longer need medication. Devon is a vegetarian and has been for about three years. Although his father and I are vegetarians as well, we never discouraged meat-eating in our children. He just decided on his own one day that he didn't want to eat meat anymore. Kate My baby! It's so hard for me to believe my baby is a teenager now! But she reminds me constantly! She's very happy to be 13 and is anxious to get a boyfriend! We continue to tell her she's "complete" the way she is and there is plenty of time later for a boyfriend, but being 13 and having your best friend have a boyfriend makes Mom and Dad pretty square! Kate is also very artistic and enjoys making clothes for her dolls and stuffed animals. She's done this since she was about 3, although back then her "sewing" consisted of wrapping toilet paper around her dolls! Kate recently discovered acting and is very anxious to be on stage again! She's quite a ham! This should not surprise me as she always made up little plays and put them on for anyone who would listen when she was younger. |
| Update 5/31/04 I need to get some newer pictures on here...the kids are now 15 and almost 17...They are both doing very well and I'm beginning to enjoy the teenage years, for the most part. (Of course we still have THOSE moments!) Devon now has a wonderful girlfriend, Krys, from a neighboring town. Be watching for more pictures soon! |
